robox: neotech - sampler

I was asked to write something about this record as I got a copy before it's officially out, and I'm doing it with great pleasure. I don't know shit about the artists on it, except that they are from Augsburg, Germany, and some of them are always attending the SciFi-Beats parties in Biel and Porrentruy. They have released a compilation with 9 tracks on it (I'm not so shure at the moment *hehe*), with one artist contributing one track. The other weekend I finally had the occasion to actually listen to it at home with time at my hand, and I can assure you, it rocks. Sometimes the sounds are a bit confusingly arranged so that you get the impression they're a little random, but once the producers stick to their ideas and try working with it instead of freely bringing it the next ones, the result is always a killer track. All the material sounds a bit dirtier than even the usual Brighton stuff and often makes me think of Subhead at their wildest. The punk association comes easily to my mind, which is always ok with me, because the sounds are so beautifully fucked up. I was especially impressed by the contributions of LeSiff, Lakritze, Doshy and 108 Kellner. If these tunes don't cause mass hysteria on the dancefloor then I don't know what else will, be it in a positive or negative sense. People will either love or hate it. I, for my part, love it.

what label? vinyl or cd? who distributes it? are there samples online? I'm always interested in hearing stuff from fresh faces...

it is a 2x12" vinyl, the label is called robox or robox:neotech or the release is called neotech, if it is already released - I have no idea! I received this record as a promo too. they are newcomers from augsburg and there are only a few people who know them I think. but this will change - be aware!
