Oh I remember the Saphirecut incident, it went something like this...

Everyone got the admin message, then everyone searched for Saphirecut, three people were sharing files by this artist. Several hours later hundreds of people are sharing the files... Yeah obviously that worked.

I'm hoping Nir has some balls and counter sues for loss of buisness caused by the downtime and let people know that pulling stuff like this off isn't fair. The fact it's happening at a drop of the DCMA is a worrying sign because Soulseek isn't even a large scale service, it's always been deisgned towards the sharing of underground music rather than commercial shite which is where it hits the money.

Soulseek could also do with a bit of proper management, Nir for all the work he's put into it so far isn't actually furthering the project much, in fact he could be accused of holding it back with his 'limited' source code release, there are a large number of simple changes that need to be made which just haven't happened and there hasn't been a new version in a long time.
