"Seeing is believing", produced by Cristian.
I hope there's an album following.

Yep - i produced and mixed the whole album in Paris , 2001 .... not really sure what I make of it now,its been so long since i heard it... plus it was a weird mission , but I think i did some pretty decent pop - electro production and mix on most of it - as they haven't sent me any finished copy , and don't communicate with me much anymore , I really don't know what to think ... I'm gonna get in touch with them , thanks for letting me know that a record is out...

I have only heard Seeing is believing once, but it was catchy as hell! don't know the album follows that direction. Is it released alraedy?
anyway, nice number 1 in your top 3, cristian.

That mp3 is a remix - the version I arranged is a kind of teenage technopopguitar thing with a big finale

Phil - please... the bears thread and the YeeKing biscuit were inspired mate , but now you're hijacking this thread with a C++ Adult Site programmer fantasy... !! - Actually , this Scratch Massive thing is pretty significant , as I pretty much did it in secret , and this is the first time anyone from the board has mentioned it... I'm also a bit wary about what people are going to make of it , as it is pop...

Scratch Masssive is nothing to be embarrassed for... on the contrary. hope I can get my hands on the album. more info is always welcome cristian.

I like Pop music, but it is a bit like Science fictiona and fantasy fiction - you have to wade through vast piles of dross for an occasional gem - I think its a shame too that in the music industry producers get, well I 'spose the word is 'genrecasted' and if you do a different project you either get loads of stick from people saying you've 'betrayed' them or you get loads of stick from people saying they didn't like your existing stuff so this new project must be shit too.

I think the UK is particularly bad for it, people define their music tastes from what they read in the press and don't have the gumption to open their ears and decide for themselves, they sit their talking authoritively about why this is good and this is bad and in reality they can't even decide for themselves if they like a tune or not - this is not a music fan - this is a fashion victim...

Ha ha, that would be a funny idea - if people's record collections some how affected the clothes they wear - hmm perhaps they do - all those media types wondering around in old skool trainers and trackie tops with sideburns - I bet they've got appalling taste - I mean someone's convinced them to part with top dollar for clobber that got designed 20 years ago (nothing like making money on your back catalogue, eh?) - and what's this wearing camoflage combat trousers with high heel ankle boots, seriously I think some of these fashion designers are comedians... :-)

think, theres a different opinions, what pop music is or not.

sometimes i like brummagem sounds....when i have a brummagem day....

but pop is not brummagem for me............pop is a trivial feeling, wich is easy structured............

it´s made by a simple recipe:

what is the lowest common denominator of all people???
It is dullness!

ergo..........i make dullness sounds, wich are easy to understand for the most people............and than im popoular............and my music is pop......

i dont like this technokiddy-i´ll-be-a-hero music..................
maybe for example chicks on speed become a kind of with charisma
with cristians help................

I'm curious about the result for that, what cristian see in this direction.

deccard
8th February 2003, 22:21
i don´t think you can describe the common denominator with dullness. the marketing and fame of artists is a problem of popmusic. there are always surprises what ends up in the charts but people like madonna make dull stuff but because they are famous people get to hear it so often they don´t get a chance to hear better stuff.

Weishaupt
9th February 2003, 01:14
certainly have the people the chance to hear better stuff.................but they didnt know the difference!!!!!!!
that is the problem.................

unknow about the chance to select this or this is also a basic problem for the most people...........not only from the philosophical side................

the possibility , that you can select this or that, to decide what you will do, is the only kind of freedom wich nobody can take from you......

...to understand this is the first step to a big thing called responsibility.............!

this is your way into a consume of...how do you say it, deccard............"better stuff"..............

you have to learn about the responsible handling of the music............

and than.........you will get the information about dullnes and stuff........

dullnes sounds for dullnes people......................al so a chance for this people to find a way into it................actually a good thing........harharhar........ really.....

and that why i say that you have ever the chance to select the things for yourself................but you must now the difference......

je ne sais quoi (das gewisse etwas-sorry, dont know the english term) make the difference............the subtle distinction is sigificant.....

deccard
9th February 2003, 11:33
ur right. i saw it from the point of people are propaganda victims of the media machine.

CV
9th February 2003, 17:22
well - as I guess some of you realise by now , I am moving on and growing into production and mixing... SM was the first major production project that was commissioned from me , and I tried my very best with the material and direction that the duo wanted, working with my muscial background and studio/writing approach.. I wouldn't say it was easy , but then again it was rewarding and I learnt alot... SM a re quite a strange, modern concept of a band anyway , again , electronic pop with guest vocals, not really instrumentalists... their management, salam aleikum amusements , are the people behind FFF , one of Frances longest standing funk / rock / pop groups ... opinions about Pop and sell-out etc are pretty much irrelevant I would say in this day and age , as its all just down to commitment , stimulation and dynamism in my view ... and that energy essentially comes from some unexpected sources and contrasts

Out of a critic in this month´s Groove mag.

____________
Hello, it´s getting round in here. Cristian Vogel produces the French
Scratch Massive with prettily impudent singing and again by
competent hands is handed here. The straight mix from Carreta sounds
quite cracky after EBM discotheque and organ that Wave - Pathos, and
it is to be seen again and again amazing that – if one may not
object the raw material only valuable enough actual one nothing at all
to it.

Super sits! In addition, the franc arbatarez mixing emerges rather
skirt element, could bring progressive electro Floors to the
headbangen. Cosmo Vitellis version finally gushes over before feeling
and schmachtendem orchestra that one becomes completely different.

in regards to production etc cristian, if someone more 'mainstream' or 'charty' came along and asked you to produce some tracks or an album what would you do? heh....like if robbie williams asked you I'd imagine you'd tell him to get fucked......but then again maybe the money would make it worthwhile....

sorry about that remix preview, as i said i wasnt so sure it was you.
cristian, i actually do think that we might have mentioned the SM band before.. just not very specific.. i think it was simply said

& u also recently mentioned to be producing a spanish hiphop act,, around july ( i remember the date being close to sonar..) what about them?

...Who cares what other people think? You do what you feel like doing Cristian. A journey between opposites. Do as you will and you'll be fine. I think you should work with as many popular arrtists as possible. Make a name for yourself. As long as you're happy with the end result, you ain't pimpin' yourself.

I hate it when people like Madonna etc.. want people like Aphex, squarepusher etc. just so they can get a piece..etc etc.. But they don't sell out and do that shit. They got integrity, and that gets big respect from me. Besides Scratch massive are shit.

i also checked the mp3 as i read something about 'ebm discotheque' :D - hmm the sequence, yes, but the chords are not 'wave pathos' in my opinion, it's more a bit jarre-like i'd say. would be quite interesting to hear the original production.
