I like how the US have to get us British to show you how to fight properly and have to make all your decent patriotic movies for you, and show you how to be proper capitalists - we know how to wring our populace of every last drop of blood - how else do you think such a titchy little island of brash, rude loud mouths (we say its our dry wit - but we are just cunts) gets to be the fourth largest economy on the planet...

Where would you be without us, eh? Speaking bloody Portugese and growing coca...

We are still the daddy round here, this is the secret of the special relationship - we still rule the waves - Da da da da da d-d-d-d-da - Britons never, never will be slaves... Come on Bush, who's da Daddy, yeah Tony 'fucking' Blair - he's the Daddy round here...

Sorry this is the all-out jingoism thread innit...?

Weis, dude, I'm taking the Michael, 'avin' a giraffe, pulling your leg - I'm joking...

And besides we had to cut America loose, the Empire was getting too loose and flappy around the edge - efficiency drives, downsizing and everything - may seem like modern things to everyone else but we've been doing it for centuries - see we're always ahead of the game here in Britian

i don´t think its about germany. it´s the power that a united europe really could have.
this artificial split into new and old europe is just typical.
teile und herrsche....

the governments of the new european countries are blinded by supporting the "big one" instead of gaining their own strength.

Seriously, its about trade, the true cause of all wars - religion is just a more marketable reason to dress things up in -

Attacking people for their commodities turns you into a common thief, a la Han Gruber in the Die Hard films - religion turns you into a crusader of good vs evil - Europe better watch out, the US won't like it, they like being the only super power on the block...

Yeah I watched that - you see how small his pupils are....

It was great when that bloke started saying that Bush and Saddam where similiar, Blair was not pleased that his best friend had been dissed... was well funny.

still think Blair has no real idea why he is willing to fight this war!!!

BTW, JE:5 - your avatar (logo picture thing), is that not the same logo as CRASS ????

JE:5

Yeah, his pupils resembled those of a whacked out smack head! I think it's when that bloke dissed him and then Paxman that he looked like he was holding back the tears.......

the opening when paxman and him started to argue about if the inspectors had been thrown out, and it was clear they hadn't and paxman wouldn't let it lie, and blair was getting quite upset... !!!

thats a unwritten law!

...a law which could perhaps have been 'unwritten' by men in order to compensate themselves for their perceived inadeqacy in the willy department?? speaking as a woman, if/when a man has told me voluntarily their extended penis size, and in the rare event that i've experienced their penis first hand lol to be able to verify their statement, i have never once known them to have lied. :)

so...they probably do have a big dick lol

sorry - must get back to the topic!

cat no. crass 1984/1 (K.U.K.L.:.THE EYE)

...i think we can safely assume that bush has got tony by the balls...so wtf is he squeezing uk on? the WWII debt? the UK's uranium processing monopoly? shady future oil deal with the saudis? o fuck - perhaps tony blair is one of the usa-assisted world leaders? a usa led choice, like saddham, and the taliban, and musharef. if so...we're truly fucked and so are the iraqis.

uk can be totally self-sufficient in wind-power 4 times over. there is no reason for tonyblair NOT to cut off all ties with the usa - it's tony blair's moral and legal obligation to lead uk into the greener fields, and a european state.

deccard
7th February 2003, 13:28
maybe it has something to do with the echolon system.
uk is part of that and maybe they have to stick to big brother or they gonna get their ass whiped.
uk government was always against europe. for what reason?

So was Paxman wading in, this is quite unusual, I've been listening to a lot of Radio 4 and 5 and they've been really toeing the line, everyone who has rang in to say that they don't want the war has been put down by the presenters, some at least with conviction and decent argument like Edwina Currie (she is a former Conservative MP, so can probably hold her own),

but other presenters have simply been cutting people off the line, then answering them back with a piece of rhetoric to put them down... Listening to the Radio has given me an appreciation for the methods that broadcasters can use to manipulate arguments and debate...

decadnids
7th February 2003, 14:07
Paxman was Paxman, he did what he always does, he played the devils advocate, and made sure the PM answered the questions. It was clear from the discussion that Phoney Blair was having a hard time putting an argument forward that what he was doing was for the good of the nation.

yes, also elsewhere on a video advert paid for by greenpeace.org

but never on the terrestrial channels in uk.

could it be to do with the waver of import tax on a steel deal for the uk which blair sealed with bush last year?

The point is that we live in a capitalist society, which is based on slow steady economic growth - its all about predictability and stability.

We can't switch to wind power because the old institutions are still in place and if the decision is made to switch to windpower then it has to be phased in gradually, and the old phased out - in line with the 'evolutionary' aspect of our system - I'm not condoning this system, its just the way it is - the fact that we may discover that it may in fact be too late to stop or let alone reverse the damage we have done to the environment could be our ultimat folly.

Another example of this is the dairy farming industry - woefully inefficient, massively subsidised and very cruel to animals and it would be far cheaper and generate more food if we just got rid of it. At the end of the day we're the only animals on the planet that a) drink milk beyond the suckling period and b) drink the milk of another animal - its disgusting and much like meat, people consume insane amounts of it and they wonder why there's problems with large increases in people suffering from allergies, and allergy based diseases like asthma.
