It was mentioned in another thread the other day, but I'm watching What The Tudors Did For Us right now.

I love him. He's like your favourite science teacher at school. He might not be trendy, but he gets really excited about everything, and puts it across in a way where you cannot possibly be anything other as excited as he is about it.

Anyone who doesn't like Adam Hart-Davis must be dead inside.

What makes you think that? I didn't think I was as curmudgeonly as Steev

I reckon you are stealth-curmudgeon.

he could make a brillaint re-creation of the worlds first crack-pipe out of day-glo plastic guttering and a trouser full of ferrets

Spandex

He's forever trying to show the world his arse. Give him ANY period in history and he finds a way to take all his fucking clothes off and sit in a tin bath whilst explaining it.

My gf thinks I want to bum him.

u do - with a day-glo plastic roman replica dildo

These small letters are rather difficult to read. I thought your post said "My gf thinks I want to burn him."

i think he's ace. i think david mitchell likened him to johnny ball on tv heaven, telly hell the other week, which is spot-on. my girlfriend hates him, though, and she won't tell me why

Ah.. I caught the end of that... they had the footage of him naked in the victorian shower... just one of the many occasions he's got naked in a tin bath.

that tv heaven telly hell programme is shite. I watched the first couple of episodes because I really like Shaun Lock, but the programme is simply rubbish. He wasn't very good on Have I Got News For You, either. He should stick to only reading his own material, rather than other people's.

Trufax.
I tried to like his show, but it is a bit pony. And his performance on HIGNFY was cringeworthy. Shame, cos I do really like him and wanted both to be good but, alas, they weren't.

the wind destroying my ariel, ruing my digital telly, coupled with the crazy greek restraunt owner that stole my giant cable in revenge for throwing fake sick out the window was the best thing that ever happened to me.

fake sick? I'm sure real sick was thrown out of that window many a time

i thought it was alright - like room 101, depends who the guest is. you're right about sean lock, though... he's no presenter

thembuzz
13th May 2006, 16:56
he's funny, definitely. but better at telling jokes off the cuff than from an autocue. having said that, i thought he got on brilliantly with his guests on tv heaven... especially with mitchell and bailey

his stand-up is ace. 15 Storeys High is ace. However, because of the clear aceness of both his stand-up and 15 Storeys High, the relative blandness of his presenting on HIGNFY and TV Heaven, Telly Hell means it can only be a letdown. Doesn't mean he's not funny, just not AS funny as we're used to.

Saw his stand-up, didn't do much for me. I liked the little bit of 15 Storeys High I've seen though.
