So what's happening? Anyone care to give me a summary of current arguments/fun/frolics?
This FTP thing is a good idea - does it really only last till the 15th? Is there any way of commenting on each other's tracks? Maybe by uploading .txt or .doc files of comments into other people's folders? Everyone go get some knidtrax!

Hooray - "squabbles" is a great word for a great activity.
Damnright I'm a Popwhore! I'm currently rocking the Kelly Osbourne album at great volume... she is the Anti-Avril and I love her.

Yes indeed I am... also working at X-Ray, which is the new alternative music title from XFM and Swinstead (who publish Jockey Slut and Sleaze Nation) which is shaping up to be a well-informed and broad-minded alternative to the stupid cunting NME.... so if anyone wants their shit reviewed and hyped to an 'alternative' audience, chuck stuff my way.

Mux - you're so right, since the new editor took over it now looks brilliant and is pretty much spot on apart from where music is concerned - I've actually just been pestering the editors today with my theories that covering far-out or specialised stuff will not alienate readers. A lot of people are bored with it only reporting R&B and NYC "haircut bands".
X-Ray has only had one issue outso far, a sort of test-run last october. The first proper monthly issue is due out in a week or 2. Every copy comes with a free CD of new bands.

The odd record review and Hype pieces so far, but I've just started doing some big bits for the new Anti-Hype back section. They sent me to Amsterdam to sample shamanic hallucinogens (!!!) before Xmas - that's going to be in this month - and I'm currently researching the sexual habits of young goths for next month.

IMO u need to be going to dedbeat, and reporting on all the fantastic musicians/dj's there ....PLUS u'd get a chance to find out more about Su_Co's fantastic costume for Jamie Lidell, link it to global recycling, AND discover that it's possible to sound even better than one's studio-produced cd LIVE!
hehe
