are there realy people who agree with bush? do they belive what he said tonight? he talked like he can solve all problems like aids in afrika and the problems in israel and a few minutes later he talked about war in iraq which means killing a lot of people...
he talked about the biological weapons but he didn`t say anything about the way the iraq got the weapons. he didn`t say that usa germany and some other countries gave sadam the weapons, that the usa was the power that made sadam to the leader of iraq and helped him fighting against iran WITH biological weapons.
he talked about saving people in afganistan but he didn`t talk about the people they killed there and not about the people who are still in that special prison which ai claimed to be against human rights...
who belives that stuff he said?
perhaps i am stupid... but i realy don`t get it...
NO WAR FOR OIL!
can`t somebody stop him? :(

if the man had half a brain he wouldn't beleive the stuff he said.....makes me think though, he really doesn't have the brains to make head nor tail of the information that's been given to him, so who is spinning it around for him.....maybe theres someone working in the back who wants a war against iraq more than he does....
I think Iraq said if the US plans to attack them, then they will attack kuwait as retalliation (some US bases are in Kuwait).....probably will lead to more innocent deaths.....
he talked about the biological weapons but he didn`t say anything about the way the iraq got the weapons. he didn`t say that usa germany and some other countries gave sadam the weapons, that the usa was the power that made sadam to the leader of iraq and helped him fighting against iran WITH biological weapons.
yep, the US have a fairly convenient short memory when it comes to who they fought with in Iran
anyway, it all seems a bit fucked to me too...

We also see Iranian citizens risking intimidation and death as they speak out for liberty and human rights and democracy. Iranians, like all people, have a right to choose their own government, and determine their own destiny, and the United States supports their aspirations to live in freedom.
the thing i am thinking now isn`t "thx bush. please bring freedom to the persian half of my family."
i know that it`s not as bad as bush said... and i realy hope that my family don`t get hurt...
if u tack a close look at the political situation u can see a start of a liberal political movement. a look into the history shows that this is the first democraty step into a positiv future...
(i think most of u aren`t realy interested in this post but i had to do it.)

I just think its a case of bush only seeing what he wants to see.....whether it's the truth or not....and acting on that without the whole story.....and he also likes blowing shit up

What's wrong with the world?
I think the world stands at the the brink of the end of the industrial revolution....
oil is a finite resource, and the fight is on to secure the supply to the most heavily industrialised nations, of which USA is the top dog. The USA's combined might of political/commercial/industrial wealth and military power dictates what may and may not be produced in the western world.
treasure your vinyl - in 30 yrs time, plastics will be considered the antique of the future..in 30 years, plastics such as vinyl records will be the most treasured and expensive plastics that money can buy, lego will cease to be made, and will fetch huge prices in auction houses.
until our governments search out a viable future without oil, we are stuffed, and if warlike govts. such as the USA Govt. continue to force our expenditure to military purposes, instead of civilian purposes such as new farming methods, and renewable energy, I fear greatly the social chaos which i believe we could sink into.
what's wrong with the world?
i believe short-sighted commercialism and resource-waste is what's wrong.
Just don't forget how to hunt and farm, and distill alcohol. Countries who know how to do this will probably survive.

At the end of the day, there is something centrally wrong at the heart of the world economic system - its based around money, which since time immemorial has been linked to precious metal - gold. In fact it used to be gold, but it was decided this was too inefficient, so lets make some tokens that represent our gold - and put all the gold in a castle.
Problem - Firstly gold's only redeeming quality is that it has a stupidly long decay rate, so in a million years time - the piles of gold will still be around (long after the castle has fallen down around it)- other than that is utterly useless.
Our monetary system has to be linked to our rate of consumption, a few people have done studies into calorific economic systems. They were mentioned in the Red Mars series of books too. Essentially, everyone or every system has to balance its calorific input and output, thus ensure that what you take out you put back in. Sadly the implications for such a system or so utterly far reachin and radical that only a global revolution would see a change of this magnitude - or colonising and terraforming another planet, where such considerations would be critical.
Hah ironic that probably the best research into terraforming another planet probably lies in looking at our unforeseen attempts to render our own planet uninhabitable.... :-)

we currently (from a personal view living in england) live in a society that is based on capitalism. This means that the countries economic well being is directly linked to the amount of money the citizens spend. With out people spending their hard earned cash, the economy will fail - this to me is a sad, and sorry state of affairs.
how crazy can you get, with a complex system like the economy, its on a hair trigger, anything could set it spinning into total destruction. If everyone in the country decided not to buy something on one day, things would seriously fuck up - the chances of getting people to do this is totally impossible, but it is worth thinking about.

"Love casts out fear; but conversely fear casts out love. And not only love. Fear also casts out intelligence, casts out goodness, casts out all thought of beauty and truth. What remains in the dumb or studiedly jocular desperation of one who is aware of the obscene Presence in the corner of the room and knows that the door is locked, there aren't any windows. And now the thing bears down on him. He feels a hand on his sleeve, smells a stinking breath, as the executioner's assistant leans almost amorously toward him. "Your turn next, brother. Kindly step this way." And in an instant his quiet terror is transmuted into a frenzy as violent as it is futile. There is no longer a man among his fellow men, no longer a rational being speaking articulately to other rational beings; there is only a lacerated animal, screaming and struggling in the trap. For in the end fear casts out even a man's humanity. And fear, my good friends, fear is the very basis and foundation of modern life. Fear of the much touted technology which, while it raises our standard of living, increases the probability of our violently dying. Fear of the science which takes away with one hand even more than what it so profusely gives with the other. Fear of the demonstrably fatal institutions for which, in our suicidal loyalty, we are ready to kill and die. Fear of the Great Men whom we have raised, by popular acclaim, to a power which they use, inevitably, to murder and enslave us. Fear of the War we don't want and yet do everything we can to bring about.
Aldous Huxley (1894-1963)
Ape and Essence.

The best political weapon is the weapon of terror. Cruelty commands respect. Men may hate us. But, we don't ask for their love; only for their fear.

another thing that´s wrong with this world is the bunch of exploiters and/or killers that runs (=ruins) most of this world´s countries, whereas the rest is not governable (=exploitable) any more.

here's a couple more genuine quotes...
Fascism is government by the few and for the few. The objective is seizure and control of the economic, political, social and cultural life of the state.
U.S. Army (1945)
An American Fascist seeking power would not proclaim that he is a fascist. Fascism always camouflages its plans and purposes.... Any fascist attempt made to gain power in America would not use the exact Hitler pattern. It would work under the guise of "super-patriotism" and "super-Americanism". Fascist leaders are neither stupid nor naive. They know that they must hand out a line that "sells". Huey Long is said to have remarked that if Fascism came to America it would be on a program of "Americanism".

The fact that he acts like the USA is only trying to save the world from terrorism is the funny part. Since Sept 11th we no longer even bother to capture suspected terrorists, and put them on trial we just kill them. So my question is how do we know who they are killing??? Lets face it its just a cloud of smoke to cover the real interest in iraq which is oil, After september 11th, the media kept showing the the death toll in the twin towers, my question is where can we find how many people were killed in afganistan and since, its all BS.
