Good evening y'all..

Now the time has come;

I'm strongly considering getting myself a 01v - mainly for a live act.
Now, from what I've read on the net, everything sounds just peachy about this little thing, but what I _really_ wonder is if the digital compressors inside are good, and if (maybe kind of a stupid question, however I'd rather ask it than not) it's possible to use those compressors on the master out (i.e. as 'master compressors').

Also, is there anything one should know about this mixer? Does it perhaps have an irritating habit of spontaneous selfcombustion?

solvitos.
I worked with the yamaha promix 01 for a couple of month! for liveacting it is very nice because of the automation presets. but i can tell you dont use the compressor .they are the same in the promix and o1v. its sounds horrible, because you have to make a u/turn on the poti to realize a change in the sound.eq´s are bad as well in my opinion.
but just for liveacting it is a nice tool.

it depends what kind of music you're into. if you do more "nice" stuff definitly some cool shit for live, but if you 're more on the abrassive / harsh side (like me) then i would rather take the mackie for the pa. specially when it comes to real deep bass sounds, it seems to me that the 01v is having some probs. also the rest sounds just a little more dirty, scratchy on the mackie then on the 01v...

nevertheless it's a great piece, i'm using it only in the studio for recording, definitly kick ass with those saving faders and shit...you can make x-different mix versions and compare it very quick and easily.

i never use the efx though, not really my cup of tea, get rather a drawmer compressor or something equal...
