Heard that Massive records in Oxford went under as well recently...they were quite well known with shops in Oxford and Birmingham.
All these shops closing really does suck.

Smallfish is great. Phonica still has good stuff even if their staff are ponces. Sounds Of The Universe has a surprisingly good array of electronic (it's owned by Soul Jazz, and they've shifted into the electronic / experimental areas a fair bit recently).

And there's Covert (for techno) and Edgeworld (for experimental) in Brighton.

I would say Phonica - and yup the staff can be a bit variable. Sometimes they are excellent other times they are shite to say the least
The new Sister Ray shop that includes the old Select-a-Disk stock on Berrick Street is pretty good, though its busy on a saturday.
Other than that, Juno - but I guess you know about that.

Their own label's good, and it's usually cheaper to buy SJ releases cheaper at the shop. They've been doing electronica for ages, at least they were doing so before they moved from their old shop round the corner..

Edgeworld in Brighton is great. Phonica is good but the location and general ponceyness mean I don't usually bother.

Sister Ray took the shop over and all their stock, rebranded it and integrated all their stock in too - so its quite a wicked little shop now.Got quite a nice techno and dnb section.
