i havn't bought a rephlex-record for quite a time (i think the last one was the latest global goon album). anyway they're still a great label and they have released so many classic must-have-records that i get dizzy thinking about it. don't know where to get the old releases, probably searching in recordstores. maybe ebay - nah, the good ones surely sell too expensive.

i'd recommend getting 'µ-ziq "tango n vectif", originally released in '93 they re-released this one some months ago if i remember right. great album.

i think rephlex is a good label myself. very good almost.
but they hide in warp's big shadow when it comes to music. global goon is some very new excellent stuff, cylob is also great.. but DMX have a tendecy to sound horrible. Aphex is a total twat ruining something he took so long to create.. he genius point is now history and releases total crap, just becuase i assume he is fashionable, or at least consideres himself that way.

i happned to see Ceephax playing live at the last dedbeat and in a 400ppl packed room, im sure he was the only person having a ball!

look i respect the small donation rephlex give to there scene.. but i happy to hear that everything released that was influcenced by them, sales double whatever they make.
Check out Chocolate industries, defocus, planet mu, skam but keep your eyes closed and your ears open.

and instead of DMX krew.. try adult, kitbuilders & legowelt

nop Mux ...I love kitbuilders & adult (huh dn't know legowelt)... the fact is I'm just looking for an old record from Dmx krew on rephlex but dn't know their discography as I dn't really know replex discography...
concerning Afx I just love the artist & his vision ... I don't really care if everything rephlex release sales double but understand yr opinion ::: I' d like to explain more but my english is really too poor ...:!

Mux you are crazy hehe

Im gonna have to disagree with you on a few things. One Drukqs is a great album. Also DMX is excellent and I couldnt beleive you would suggest Adult over DMX. Adult are just DMX wanna bes.

Rephlex is one of the top labels IMO check out reccent releases that kick major ass

K-Rock-The New Deal (w/excellent 7")
P.P. Roy- Seven Up

some of my rephlex faves:

transllusion - l.i.f.e.
normal ep (baby ford) - both peter´s and aphex´ version.
kiyoshi izumi (ep from '97)
cylob - lobster tracks
d´arcangelo - shipwreck
vulva - from the cockpit & birdwatch
chaos a.d. - bullcaner lp
squarepusher - feed me weird things
mururoa ep

i wouldn´t go so far to dis aphex for what he´s producing nowadays, but i agree with some posts here, that his older stuff is much deeper.

Ummm....actually I found Druqks was the first Aphex Twin album (not single!!!) that I could stand listening to in ages. "I care because you do" never really touched me, and the "Richard D. James"-album I finally had to give away because more than half of it was just willingly childish and naive, and that's something I can't stand, even if it marked a new step (drill'n'bass) for him. Druqks is not really innovative, there is nothing essentially new on it, and some of the piano pieces are really on the edge of what is bearable, but as a whole it's a littlebit darker and more melancholic, and some of the breaky stuff is killer...but ok, that's just my opinion...As for the rest of Rephlex, I only know Cylob and Ovuca. Cylob is fucking great (lobster tracks...yeah!) while Ovuca's greatness is reduced by some sketchy weak shit.

no one said drukqs was innovaitive, its not ment to be. If you listen you can see where all the influences are coming from.

yep that's one of rephlex finest. wish you could understand what they sing - or do you?

it's a typical rephlex release too - hits you totally unexpected. i think that was the big stength of that label for a long time - releasing stuff that nobody would have thought of. and that's maybe what they lack a bit nowadays.
