it's so unlikely that the military would leave a hole like this, and i would seriously want to rip the code of that direct .mil url to add a user to check how many heads this webpage has, and do a virus scan also.

if it's ok to mess around with someone's website here, and have yours messed around with, and you're getting a 'free' space to do this, then who is to say that the ethics of those who govern this webspace are sound? who can say what will happen to the information which will be gathered about the keystrokes of every IP who visits?

in my opinion, it's a dodgy url to open.

go into DOS and type

pathping sites.defenselink.mil

(to trace the route to the server first.)

fair enough... but rather than recommending people visit the link I was more pointing out the the availability of it (cached in google for instance) hmmnn should've made myself clearer.

I just thought it was funny

well, I found the whole thing on the first page of my first google search...
http://www.nic.mil/cgi-bin/host
http://www.nic.mil/ftp/netinfo/service-agencies.txt
http://www.nic.mil/ftp/templates/disn-host-template.txt

and yes, it is funny.
