I took a listen to the MP3s posted for Spyquito 20, and I liked it.. 'twas definitely Industrialsamplercoregouchbeat -ie in sound, but that's hardly a shocker.
Anyhow, at various portions of the track the beat and the background drone switched out in a mutually exclusive way (i.e. when one was present, the other would be 'sucked out').. Can anybody elaborate on how this effect was accomplished? Careful sample placement? Compressor sidechain action? I've been trying to get a grip on that 'effect' for awhile now, but have yet to figure it out.
Sadly, I can't get the mp3 to play, otherwise I would give exact time placements for this aural phenomenon, but I hope you all know what I mean.
