...to Reykjavik?

I'm planning to go this summer, the Icelandair flights from Finland are almost reasonably priced. But as you might know, Iceland is rather expensive to stay. Also the amount of phoney bs all the tourist guides / sites offer is putting me off. That's obviously the case with every tourist destination, not just Iceland.

Aanyhoo, I'd be happy & well pleased to hear any info on places to stay/see/feel/hear/smell etc. Emphasis on accomodation, though...

I've been last august, lovely place, make sure you go whale viewing and for a good view of the city go up to the bell tower of the big church, cant remember what its called but you cant miss it. We camped at the campsite by the hostel. I can't give anymore details now as I'm at work but if you want anymore info let us know.

I was there on a layover.
I saw the most beautiful people just in the airport.
I can only imagine what the rest of the people in the country are like.
supposedly icelanders have the 'purist' genetic make up in the world, with very little crossbreeding of people with other genetic makeups. a lot of science tests in the field of genetics take place there.
