I need to know good record shops specializing in drum'n'bass since I didn't manage to find anyone yet and wasn't able to find a hint in the web as well...There were some shops that had small d'n'b sections but I couldn't find any records that didn't suck imo. I suspect all contemporary d'n'b sucks basically, but I would be glad to be proven wrong. In 2 weeks I am likely to play at a party and I don't wanna wind up with only old shit. So your help is desperately needed. :-)

Hi
Have you tried Mental Groove in Geneva.....they usually have a good stock of D&B + GE has its own D&B crew (Da Goosta et companie!) but don't think they have a website for the shop anymore, only their label (sorry i lost de phone number too).
Otherwise, the easiest place to pick up vinyl on the web >>>>>>
www.juno.co.uk >>>>> generalists but hey, you should be able to
pick out what you want.....otherwise >>>>>
www.blackmarket.co.uk >>>>>>>>>
Pure bad Bwoy business innit .... safe n ting B .... bling bling lol
Whats your style: nastiness or jazzy ?
If Jazzy: check releases on Hospital records, V etc
(producers like Carlitto & Addiciton, Hi-Contrast, Marky, Patife [BRASIL!!!!] have made some great stuff over the past 16 months!)
If nasty: check Ram, Rengade Hardware, Test, Chronic etc
(Dillinja, Andy C, Shimmon, Twisted Individual, Bad Company, Total Science, John B are always a safe bet for a good gut wrench!)
Hope this helps a little............
P.S. Dillinja's Valve Sounds System has to be heard to be believed >>> Loud is an understatement !

I recommend the Trendstation in Basel / Birsfelden
a shop run by a bunch of people who know what's up.
Loads of DNB stuff, breakcore and cut style
vinyls and cds.. though the shop used to specialise
solely in hardcore stuff it is expanding its horizons
so to speak.. there is also a bunch of boxes of electro
and techno records.. sure worth checking the shop out.
they also run mailorder ..more details on their webpage

Yes, check out Trendstations!! It's a really good record shop in Basel! I also saw quite a lot drum'n'bass records and a lot of the more nasty drum'n'bass stuff . For sure better than all the mainstream drum'n'bass shit! Easy to find and it is also open on Sunday! ;)

Thanks for the tip...unfortunately Basel is a 3 hours train ride for me, but I see if I can manage. I see these Trendstation guys sell Ambush records...that sounds promising. I'm especially out for the breaky stuff, I hate step tools (like everybody seems to be doing nowadays), they are to d'n'b what schranz is to techno. I especially like the Reinforced stuff (the harder ones), like Alpha & Omega, old Sonar Circle, the Enforcer-compilations. I also used to love the No U-turn and Position Chrome stuff in their heydays, Panacea, Current Value... But I was also into deeper stuff like Photek, S'Apex (aka Myer) et al. It all seems to have gone downhill.
Nobody knows something more in the centre of Switzerland...like Berne, Lucerne, Biel, Zürich...?

I definitively vote for Trendstation and C.O.R.E...!!! :)
The New-Tronic shop in Biel has surely some choice, I'll take a look at it and tell you then...

both are in the area "Niederdorf"...
and here another one, but they have a small section:
Crazy Beats, Badenerstrasse 79, Zürich

I sell a lot of my drum'n'bass and electro selection in the newtronic record store! belive it or not, but I'm starting to use FinalScratch. so, there are about 200 finest d&b vinyls from the golden age 93-96 and 150 elctro-vinyls from 95-99.
