did alot of acid from the age of 14-19, don't really regret it much..expanded my mind, made some music sound more interesting.
Kept my shit together, got a degree, house, sexy girlfriend. Good times..
Acid made me who i am today.
Some people shouldn't do it though, especially those microdots. They were silly really.

purple microdots were insane
Tec
1st February 2006, 19:00
yes they were Loz. So were the white ones, the piink ones and the gold ones that eventually turned a sort of green colour...a microdot was a pretty safe bet that you would be well fucked up for 12 hours.
When i used to hang around Chorley Wood, round about 1993...we bought a job lot of 150 of the gold/green one's for something silly like £1.20 each. £1.20!!? Unbelieveable. To this day, I've never done a stronger microdot than one of those. One guyis still living with his mum and dad after he 'lost' it in a major scale over 13 years ago, he was a strange chap before he took LSD...he got a whole lot stranger though.
get well Simon.

the purple ones were the strongest I ever took. I took acid last glastonbury, got given some for my birthday. Bit disappointed really, didn't seem to have the same effect as it did when I was younger.

never really got into acid tbh, only had it about twice and it didn't do very much. i do like mushies on occasion though, even though i've had two nasty nasty trips. i reckon they've made me a little more resilient though, i know peeps who've never had a bad trip and they trip more than i do, so when a bad one comes they're not gonna know what to do.

If you're sensible with Acid it can be psychologically beneficial. A bit like a mental spring clean.

I took lots of acid and mushrooms in my teen. But then during one session I thought that the mushrooms were speaking to me and told me not to take any more mushrooms or they would make sure that the next time was a nasty one.
I kind of believed them and now I won't ever take them again willingly. I hope no one ever doses me because I'm sure them little feckers will be true to their word.

shrooms were just made illegal in ireland yesterday because some guy took a bunch of them and then nose-dived off of a balcony killing himself.
no mention of what he was drinking. suprise, suprise. government wins another victory against drugs or something....??

your acid window is between 14 - 24. after that i think its unnecessary and embarassing
btw steev i saw jayne today, you are supposed to be ill and not using the computer? i told her to poke you in the other eye and give you something to cry for, just my caring way...

I was only talking about my glastonbury experience last summer. Got given two tabs for my birthday, told it was "good stuff" so took them (one at a time, mind) and didn't really get more than the sky looking a bit funny, and feeling really happy with the world. I got given the second one by someone else, and took that, too, that had hardly any effect at all.
But maybe the cocktail of other stuff in my body stopped it from doing much.
I reckon all drugs have a certain window before you get a bit sad. I don't really want to see myself as one of those blokes in his 40s still pilling. I feel embarrassed for them when I see that, and would hate for people to think that about me.

I`ve heard that a few times..But how should i imagine the setting? And wich dose???

1st February 2006, 22:32
Low dose mushrooms can be great fun. Sometimes I took 10-15 or so of the small kind that grow wild in Ireland (Liberty Cap?). You can then go out to the pub or whatever and things are just that bit funnier. But you don't hallucinate or anything.
The same with Acid, if you take fairly small amounts (1/4 tab) you might not even notice much until you sit down and listen to some good music and it just sounds more clear and present. Likewise with food, paintings, whatever. But it doesn't have the hit in the face with a shovel effect of White Lightnings or something nasty like that.
The way people take end up taking these things as teenagers is the equivalent of sitting down and drinking a bottle of whiskey and then trying to draw some conclusions about alcohol. We used to take mushrooms by the hundreds which I'm sure was nearly toxic. It felt like sitting on a rocket but went bad as often as good.

is that a 10 year window or just a definate age range?
i had a good 7 years taking it, then it wasn't so good for me anymore
but i didn't start taking it till i was 22
i'm trying to decide whether taking acid at 14 would be good cos you have absolutely no life-weary emotional baggage, or its bad at that age cos you haven't even built yourself properly yet, i can't decide

I experimented between 16 and 27 but have had no desire to take any since. I think aproximately 10 years is a good window of experimentation, although I was too young at 14 to be tripping imo. It's different for girls though they mature at a younger age.

Nah man.. it's the double-dipped purple micro-strawberry buddha-tubes.
The stuff with the best visuals was always cherry-sniffer pink rainbows but the giggliest acid is the blue reverse Om penguin. They put a diffrunt type of acid in them see. Those boffins and their magic cocktails!!

I found trips at 18 a bit scarely but luckily had a tripping partner that was 18 stone and 6'4" and extremely good at fighting so everything was always cool - and he was excellent at getting me through any fear I had. At 20 I found mushrooms and liked them more because they seemed less spikey and more magical. Lived right next to the beach and shed loads of woods in the North East so was wicked.
Last time I took shrooms I over did it a bit and it spun me out at a party because the rig was way to loud... luckily I had a girly mate to hold my hand literally for 2 hours and then it was a wicked trip.
Always feel chipper the week after off trips and shrooms

Acid geeks:
http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,70015-1.html?tw=wn_story_page_next1
Quotes:
"Nobel-prize-winner Francis Crick, discoverer of the double helical structure of DNA... told friends he received inspiration for his ideas from LSD...The gathering included a discussion of how early computer pioneers used LSD for inspiration. Douglas Englebart, the inventor of the mouse... and Apple-cofounder Steve Jobs were among them."
V Knid esq
5th February 2006, 17:48
The story about Crick is much-contested, and he was willing to fight it in court when he was alive... according to his family he didn't get into LSD til some time after the DNA discovery http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Francis_Crick
Something I've often wondered - if LSD stimulates creativity, why is most hippies' art so shite?

and
why is most goa trance so shite?
;)
ckpqerjwrpwp
5th February 2006, 18:40
I think hippy art and goa trance is shit cos it's a very literal 'surface' translation of the more throwaway sides of the acid trip.. the stereotypical trippy patterns etc.. all very enjoyable stuff while it's happening, but out of context it's wank.
I think the interesting LSD influence is from the more personal emotional and intellectual tangents that are inspired by seeing patterns in everything.. and how you apply that in free context to whatever happens to pop into your head or based on your own personal interests.
OR SOMETHING.
V Knid esq
5th February 2006, 18:56
Yeah that's pretty spot on actually Steev... the best acid inspiration is about subtlety, subliminals, absurdity, contradiction and density of information, not just about whizzy colours, transcendental burbling and wugga-wugga bad 303 use.
V Knid esq

ckpqerjwrpwp
5th February 2006, 19:10
hehe. It's silly to try an tie it down innit.. so I'm just going to rant about Goa instead.
How can a human being take acid and not just accept that their brain is the most exotic location they will ever visit? they have to fucking pour fake mysticism and half cocked snippets of eastern religion over it for to have any meaning for them. Why can't they just accept their own brain is mysterious.
Weak minded spaz cunts I say.

I am always reminded of one of my favourite Onion gags, the one about the Tibetan teenager who gets, 'like, really into western philosophy'.
The mad thing is that so many of the people I knew in Brighton who were into their 'fluoro' bollocks were actually incredibly intelligent people who if you could keep them on 'real' topics like brain chemistry or linguistics or computers or whatever could construct proper arguments etc - but the moment they got into their cod spiritual 'down the rabbit hole' caca they would undermine themselves constantly with the bollocks they spouted.
