Winter namm is finally upon us.. check http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM03/ for some quick selections.

My personal favs, so far, are pretty slim. Arturia (who?) seems to be showing off a hardwired, VA moog modular (http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM03/Content/Arturia/PR/Modular-System.html). Seems interesting, but I hate virtual synths with TONS of knobs.. I know I'll never have enough external knobs to make the experience seem worthwhile.

Cycling 74 put a date for Radials release, and NI released some half baked samples based off kontakt.

Hopefully the next few days will bring the real noise..........

Seen this (http://www.opnlabs.com/products.php)?

Is it a synth, is it a computer, is it a computer that looks like a synth...

And Reaktor 4 now comes with

resizeable lamps

lol

No seriously, graphical Kontakt-style sample handling, Pro-53 oscillators, grain cloud delay (same as graincloud sampler but on live audio input), various user interface improvements and a new instrument library, that's about it. Not too bad huh?

that arturia piece sounds cool in theory... but it's just another va plugin and it will only sound as good as your soundcard lets it. i think i'll be happier with my nord modular ;). as for the eKo keyboard trip posted the pic of... wtf? cool.. a computer in a keyboard. seems like one giant expensive accident waiting to happen... and you still can't connect to the internet! unless someone makes a midi modem... from what i've heard so far, the show seems to be pretty dull. but i've only gotten 2nd hand info and who knows if anything else will be unveiled in the coming days...
