he wrote, that he setup a public user............
maybe in the future everybody of us have a account for his own directory.........
but this need a little work...........i dont dont if cristian wants this............
hm.......maybe we find anybody to administrate the ftp...........create accounts and directorys...............
i think, the ftp is a good chance for us, to trade rare sounds........
hehehe...i have this picture in my head, that we are afloat "dealing" with our sounds............

excellent idea......personally i wish i could provide the service from my own server, but once again that takes time and resources, and the know how. so thansk to iadmini.

for sharing "rare" music, I recommend setting up a opennap server and then having everyone connect with their favorite napster-clone - there's one for every OS out there (at least), and you can control the network to be pass protected...
as for the ftp, I think it's in the works...

why don`t we use soulseek and friend list option? ;)

'cause not all of us run on pc, and soulseek is pc only (as far as i know).

but who is able to set up an opennap server?

i might be able to hook up a server, but i'm not sure. my friend is the admin of a college server here in chicago and we may be able to sneek some space. but that might be a little too shady.

well actually the beauty of a opennap server is that it does not require very much bandwidth - after all, the file transfers are p2p - between the users, not the users and the server! the server is only used for relaying text searches and the like, so any old dsl connection should be fine...

but u need a 24/7 connect.

not necessarily. link your dsl connection to a dynamic dns provider such as dyndns.org - set up your machine to reconnect on disconnection from network, presto.

hm. then do it. NOW! ;)
