Did you really want a cabbage patch doll?
I've still got mine, but I lost the birth certificate that you get with them, which is a shame.

I think the present I really wanted but never got was a pound-puppies set. I was given one big pound-puppy that I didn't want & a pound-puppy-yappy, which was one of the babies.

anyone remember them?

too many to remember.

off topic, i remember i asked my mum to make me an imperial star destroyer birthday cake for my 7th bday party. she "i'll see what i can do...". i got a pirate raft made out of swiss rolls and the like instead. oh well...

:(

Quality.

I like to get one and mod it to look like a 3 wheeled Big Trak.

Yeah, my Dad always did things differently - when everyone else got a normal BMX, you know like a Mongoose with a chrome frame...

I got some monster BMX, with wierd ass hub brakes and strange wheels and it weighed absolutely tonnes. Fortunately for me it was the age just before kids started to get nasty if you had different shit.

Then after, there seemed to be crazes in the playground, each year all the kids would want one particular thing - one year it was a Pool table, next year a decent racer bike, the year after that an electronic keyboard.

I got them, but usually the weird ass rubbish version...

never got a pool table though.

Always wanted Star Wars toys, but always got lego, for which I'm grateful...

hehe i know the feeling: you just say i want a plain simple normal stuff and they get it but a totally weird variant

and thank the big almighty for Lego: go create and inovate: this year i started again playing lego when a gf of me needed a maquette of something and i suggested to do it in Lego: it was fun 24/7 creating a rave in Lego
