We always seem to wish we were where we're not...
I visited London for the first time since I moved from there. When I left I was rather fed up with the big city thing and almost loathing many aspects of London. Last week it was so sunny and beautiful there, good times, no work, just enjoying ourselves. And I caught myself thinking "Why did I ever leave?" Absolutely disregarding all the shitty stuff, i.e. wasting away in the tube/buss/train, everything being so freaking expensive and drafty flats. So, for now I'm missing SE 22.
Where do you miss / wish you were?

Perhaps, but sunrise on Zanzibar's east coast is also a delight at 6 am, have a spliff and fall back to sleep in the hammock... aaaah! zzzz....

no really, i'd quite like to be in barcelona. although i'm only saying that cos i visit every year and enjoy it, but its a different matter when you live and work there i spose. i think you can make good things happen wherever you are if you have the right attitude
my mate is obsessed with the idea of moving to epsom. it's got a good BMX trail scene apparently.

pff! moving form london to finland and regretting it? hmm... only 4 months so far but haven't had a second of regret.

not regretting... it's already been a while and i've lived abroad since. in far more pleasant & easygoing places as well. nostalgia, that's all. and i think i'd like to relocate somewhere again. just all that. just plain restless. finland's okay, but this time of the year. the darkness...

yes, it's not affected me yet, the dark might piss me off but i could never imagine missing london. if darkness is the worst thing then it can't be so bad here :D
yes, you can have a great/life changing/drunken night out in london, but if you live there chances are you can't afford it. i'm sure i'd enjoy a visit. seen some great gigs, been to some great underground stuff too.
and besides, when is there time for a londoner to go out and have fun? most of your time is taken up with having your bottom violated by your landlord and your boss.

I know, this is true. and when i left i really, really did not miss it at all for about two years or so. that's the thing, you either have the money but not the time or vice versa. that's why it was so nice being back now, cause it's a great place to be if you have some money and time off. But living like that is just unrealistic. I hear you. Works for some, though.

Yes. I bet. Thank god we're all better looking and smarter. That's what my mom's told me, anyway...
I could always marry money and start lunching. In London. Hmmm..

NO FUTURE CITY...
I've been thinking recently that it would be great if we all lived in the same city - well maybe with the folks from a few other forums too... Just think how great it would be...
Great music on, all our fave clubnights all going off in the same city, just imagine that if everything that is posted on the forums all went off in the same place... I could go to all the stuff in Edinburgh and London and Berlin, we'd even be able to make it to those funny little midweek things in Barcelona that Cristian occasionally posts about...
