well, asio = advanced streaming input/output, audio driver standard invented by steinberg, optimised for low latency - no pro card ships without asio driver i guess. so most likely you knew that already. ;) as for 2.0 i don't think there was anything revolutionary and totally new about it, it's been around for a few years already, so it should be implemented in any asio driver now.

ok.........well yeah i got this quattro and ive been reading the manual and it says all about this ASIO 2.0... so i thought to myself "what the hell is this". so does ASIO transfer at a rate faster than the current drivers allready installed?....now the next question will probally be "what drivers do you currently have installed?"..well i dont know the quattro has 4 out and 4 in,usb 2.0 audio with the little things and tweaks along with that.see im not having problems with my latency im having problems with sound floor.
im runnning a shure sm-57 and the quattro and a behringer eurorack.something fishy is going on with the sound that i cant isolate and as i have been messing with the quattro, i stumbled on this ASIO thing.so here we come full circle and back to query _is ASIO going to help me in this situation or even across the board with out the problem i have?well thats about it round aboutly.heheh/j[piil]

From an emusician review of the quattro and duo:
The units are shipped with drivers that support ASIO, EASI, MME, and WDM.
You should be good to go already.
btw- never feel bad about asking questions, we all do.. and we all did in order to get to where we are. The smart person uses all the tools at their desposal in order to educate their minds, and in a matter of speaking, the internet is the greatest tool of all.

very true and i appreciate your understanding, its always about imformation.thats all i strive for.
something fishy was solved,it was the usb cord...i swaped out the old one and gave it a new one right out of the package and it solved my problem.i was getting unpredictable patterns of static that i couldnt isolate and it really was driving me crazy.but all i did was swap the usb cord and reload the drivers and walla!....noisefloor gone and crisp sound restored.so now i can sleep.heheheh......thanks
btw.i installed the ASIO drivers just to see if there was a difference and i really didnt see that big of a difference.theres some cool configuration boxes associated with ASIO but nothing to rave about.:)thanks guys!
