Sure did... loved it for its gritty realism rather than the usual thing which is to glorify the whole shebang.

thought it was pretty good like. well violent, i especially liked it when pompeiis boy got the spear through his back.

tommy from trainspotting and his centurion pal were pretty good too. i can't wait until the next episode, it was brilliant.

one thing made me sit up a bit: the photography matched the nature of the story: slightly washed-out, dirty colours rather than perfect bright modern costume-drama ones.
