Its easy! You need some safety tips both to protect yourself, and the circuit. After that, you need almost no electrical knowledge whatsoever to get results. Greater knowledge will come anyway, as you want to experiment more and more.

I would recommend reading THIS ARTICLE (http://www.oddmusic.com/illogic/) first, written by the guy that either invented, or popularized "circuitbending"

The rest of the site is worth a glance too.
