anything vegan!!! ha ha

no really I do know of this one using;
sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips(and any other similar roots if you'd like) then, the base is made of broth mixed with ground
nut-butters(peanut, almond & cashew)
It's sooo hearty, sweet and perfect for that harvesty, wintry feeling!!!
I can probly find the exact recipe if anyone is interested

4cups vegetable stock
1 can black beans
1 can chick peas
1 can corn
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 white onion (or more if ya like)
1 fattie carrot (or more if ya like)
3 cloves garlic
cumin
chili powder

puree black beans and tomatoes and add to veggie stock. this is the base. sauteé up the onions (fo flava) and the garlic (fo mo flava). dump the onions, garlic, corn, chick peas, and chopped carrot in the base. add about 2 tablespoons of chili powder (or more/less to taste) and about 1 teaspoon of cumin (or more/less to taste). add a bit of pepper, and a bay leaf if you got some and let it simmer on low for about 1.5 hours to let it all the flavors settle in. it's cheap and easy and not many ingredients. about 20min prep time and feeds you for about 4-6 sittings (depending on your consumption level!)

i never cook after recipe. i just look what's there eatable and improve. and usually it comes out something different but tasty.
my favourite ingrediences nowadays should be honey and garlic. this mango-stuff is cool too. don't know if one could make a soup of this though, maybe worth a try?

mmm....mango. ever had dried mango? DAMN it's good!

another good easy soup is miso soup. i happen to have a korean market near me so it's easy to get the ingredients. some seaweed, a couple spoon fulls of light miso paste, a drop of sesame oil, and some tofu cubes. just let the seaweed boil in water for a but w/ the sesame oil, then when the seaweed has softened add a couple of dollops of the miso paste and some tofu cubes. easy and cheap as well. more of a brothy soup.. but still yummy. some people think it's an acquired taste though. seaweed isn't a staple in most western diets.

here's an old wheezer secret recipe:

1 x kroger no-bake cherry cheese cake mix
1 x water
1 x butter

mix butter with crust material, make sure butter is nicely melted. spread crust around bottom of pie plate. mix water with filling mix, stir until nice & soft, pour into pie filling. add cherry mix on top. place into refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Nice one!
I am currently bobbing up and doen in a major soup phase...

Toronto winters tend to keep us in a constant hypothermic state, so...

Potato Leek
Carrot n' ginger
Curried lentil n' spinach
...and the ever popular: any veggie left standing in the fridge (also known as "supah improv chic gourmet ...with a touch o' love soup".

Ah... warms the soul.

pille'ocheoni

well its pretty simple and very easy.its just preep work thats all:)

first thing you do is get some decdent veggie stock and 2 potato's to your liking "i used yukon gold" and got one stock of a leek, which you can find at your store just ask.and start chopping your potato's into 1inch by 1inch cubes and steam them and the whole leek too..i do this first just for extra softness.them start your stock and i shred my leek .my potatos are nice and soft. add alll to stock and simmer for about an hour and half or two.low heat.then i ussaly add some sea salt and various spices that are around.but i havent tried any hot spices yet.its really easy and simple....just make sure that your potato's are farily soft.you can do this various ways.fresh basil is always a good touch!:)

I'm a total bumbling spastic when it comes to almost anything that has to done on the fly in realtime, except when it comes to manning them 4 hobs of steel. If yer lucky I may even throw in a bit of LIVE trickery and work some FX with the oven and the grill... As you all know I'm usually modest about my skills (or lack thereof) but I won't beat about the bush here, I'm a bloody good cook and I love cooking, can easily spend all day cooking for a dinner and cooking for people is one of the best things I like doing.

I'm sort of with Invisibleplanet it gets to a point where you don't really use or even have recipes - you just have a bunch of techniques and some ideas about which flavours work will together and some new ideas you might like to try out.

I learnt to cook myself, I used to cook the family evening meal when I was a teenager and just read loads and loads of cookery books and watched loads and loads of cookery programmes. You soon pick up the common themes and techniques, see how one chef does a variant of a recipe from another and you soon start to improvise yourself - to the point where you rarely cook the same thing twice - I mean I do similar things but you always want to try something new as well.

If you have a programme called Ready Steady Cook in the US, then watch it, everything you need to know is in that programme, chefs compete to take 20mins to cook something with a random bag of ingredients, watch it for a few months you'll soon no loads about cooking.

Finally, if anyone likes making Chilli, then a good ingredient, although quite difficult to get hold of (well in the UK) is Smoked Paprika, its just like normal Paprika except that the peppers are smoked beforehand, its the stuff that they use in Chorizo Sausage and its delicious in Chilli, unlike normal Paprika should be used sparingly though...

Check Justino Latino's pasta bake..........

Onions
Garlic
Mushrooms
Tin of Chopped Tomatoes
Olives

Small pot of cream
Cheese

Pasta........

Cook pasta until done, strain. Take frying pan and fry onions & garlic (salt n pepper accordingly), add mushrooms, tin of chopped tomatoes. Cook through for 5 - 10 minutes until reduced. Add olives (whole or cut in half), stir well, then add small pot of cream, allow to reduce.

Place pasta into an oven dish, then add mixture and mix around. Grate cheese over the top then put in oven @ 180 for around 20 minutes.....

Sorted: Justino Latino's pasta bake !

buy two or three cheap porkchops, chop into small pieces,
put a half cup or more of beer in a wok/skillet/frying pan and heat it, when the beer starts too bubble, add the meat. then stir in soy sauce, add ginger/garlic as you prefer. shake in coarse cround pepper heartily until the meat is covered, maybe add a dollop of honey. diced green peppers and onions may add texture and enhance... i rarely use round onions, but japanese long onions are very tasty. add more beer as needed, it tends to burn up quick. the beer isn't for flavor, it's in place of oil or butter, so don't use too little or the soy sauce will burn, and don't use too much as it will wash off all the black pepper.

while soy sauce isn't the best thing for you, the ginger (i prefer ginger) and pepper are really spicy and clear out your sinuses and leave the lips a bit numb (mmmmmmmmmm)... and a little hint of honey or worchestershire (sp?) sauce goes great with pork as the sweetness balances the excesive hot stuff. when the meat is finished and the sauce is almost gone, the dish is served on a bowl of white rice and the sauce is poured as needed over the top.

viola - spicy " BU TA DON" (pork bowl)

it is a killer because it takes 3 minutes if the rice is already done, and costs about 2 or 3 bucks to make... and it tastes really good!:!
