mixed messages i love that.one person says this and one person says that.and i see a tendency to relate to aphex quite too often............why is this?because he is weird and strange and a technical genuis?or because it convient and nobody cares to make a accurate corealation?/p

wow. somebody actually knows about them. they're my mates. i helped out with some production for their first record on erkrankung, called 'kids now' (ie lent a piece of equipment, but still made them mention me on the back of the LP, hohoho).
i like 4 claws much more. shows an actual development. i hope that they are not funneled into this 'no-wave/electrogash' movement because they are above that. they are one of the best live bands you will see. really disturbing and enjoyable. all their stuff is genuinely rakes of analogue gear played live and sequenced on a vs1680. ms 20's, arps, old modified roland drum machines.
they just did a mini tour of england, and last year or so they played in switzerland and germany. some of you might have seen them.
if not, next time you are in scotland check them in either glasgow or edinburgh.
in my opinion '4 claws' sound like big black remixed by a supergroup comprised of kraftwerk and team doyobi.

Yeah, I loved Kids Now!! I always thought it was the other operator that was involved with them. It makes sense now.....

I don't actually, or if I do it is inadvertantly. I don't actually produce or anything, but we do run our own nights here in Glasgow. I have an eye out for more of the same from the Magnificents though....and we are always looking to book local peeps to play that can offer something different!!

did you do something at club 69?
i played here in edinburgh at a club called pogo vogue with a guy called derek (dj air) i think he has a night at 69.

Aaah, the self-proclaimed doctor. I know Derek pretty well actually, he used to rent a room at my friends and I've spun with him on a few occassions. It's the Super Scientists he does, I dunno if they are doing it this year but I did know they were doing every 4th Friday in a five Friday month (if that reads properly). We do Nurture down at 69 which is every second Friday of the month. I also run nights under the Basic Level guise, but they seem to be far more transient and fall whenever I can manage it really:)
Do you spin yourself or just play live?

i do dj but i prefer doing live electronic sets, couple of synths, vocoder, mpc and general bad attitude towards the crowd.
i've got a record i'm finishing for benbecula (http://www.benbecula.com) at the moment. I was meant to finish it ages ago but these things take so long.
i be 50 before i get promo's out.
i like derek he's sound, i've got a superscientist mix cd he gave us, it's nice.

doyobi are great. i've seen them in london a couple of times. the new 12" is really nice too, kinda like dabrye programmed on an amiga 500.
the magnificents record is definately 45rpm. i had a cd of it before they mastered it, but if you like it dubby, i'm sure they won't object.8-()
