I've had my head inside the proverbial donkey's arse for the last 5-7 years regarding detroit techno (my life's blood, originally).

Anybody know if DBX, Rob Hood, Jeff Mills, Scan 7, T-1000, Kikoman, Black Nation (label) or UR are still around and / or doing anything?

I'd love to send my music to a label still representing real detroit, stripped down and minimal tech (especially one run by Rob Hood, if he still does any). Any suggestions?

Hell, does any label still promote that (decidedly scottish, yet semi-detroit inspired) "Brown by August" sound (they need not be detroit based)?

It's sad when you turn around and your roots have shriveled up and fried.

Yep Yep there still representin' the underground of real music, the pioneers to btw, Robert Hood will preform at I Love Techno this year , also Bone if you talk about detroit ;) and all off the others as Los Hermanos, Galaxy 2 Galaxy, and newcomers such as Detroit Grand Pubas will keep the fire burning

Rob Hood is still around. Saw him DJing on the same bill as Autechre in London a couple of weekends ago. He has an EP out on Music Man this month. His label M-Plant last released something a year ago, although the releases were in test press stage about 3 years ago.

DBX goes by his name Daniel Bell these days and plays more house than bleepy techno now.

Jeff Mills is still very much active, just released a new EP available only from his label website, and made me cry at one point of his set at Lost a month ago.

T-1000 is still wack at making and playing records, but still good at doing the artwork for them.

UR are still around although their sound has changed somewhat in recent years.

Check www.submerge.com for your 313 techno needs.
