So this is truly exciting news – Cristian Vogel has started a new label named Sleep Debt, and as far as we can ascertain there’s several releases ready to drop. Get on this from the starting gun. The mysterious artist we’re told hails from switzerland, but of course its hard to know for sure. First up is a “low rider” cover – with merely an echo of War’s classic funk refrain ghosting over a slinky techno driver. Motive stuff. “Gabby goes fishing” keeps the boomping feel, and sides with the best kind of minimal music, shifting almost imperceptibly beneath your feet, until suddenly you’re someplace else altogether. “Damaged but happy” pushes the jack factor a touch higher – a gabbled, worrying vocal loops up over a simple vamp, killer floor hype. “Bronco” ends by managing an adroit blend of deepest funk and dopest production skills – watch out as we know this one’s gonna blow up. Large!"

Just when you thought there was no more room for another minimal house label comes Sleep Debt Records, the latest spawn of of the sprawling Kompakt distribution family. The theme here seems to be a more tongue in cheek approach, with lots of vocal snippets worked into a repetitive jackin beat amidst ominous synth stabs. Come and get it.

Another debut release, this time from new label Sleep Debt founded by Jamie Lidell's old partner in crime Cristian Vogel. This is brilliantly skewed, housey fourfour stuff from the Swiss producer Knallkids Marky!
