seems like they need some fresh money and as a hardware vendor, they obviously cannot make any from providing users with updates - so it looks like you have to buy something new next year... ;)

seems clavia is changing their business policy. i like the sentence:

Yes, that is quite sad. I spoke with a few people prvilaged enough to get a peak at what v4 was going to offer. Just one thing, of many, was a 200% patch load. Ohh well, it isn't like the nordmod isn't still as good as it was yesterday.

If I can find the email that elaborates on the other aspects of what they were working on, I'll post it for all curious.. but I'm almost sure it's long gone by now.

from what i understand, they were work on the 200% patch load, midi-syncable lfos, and midi-out messages from the sequencer modules. I assume they were working on more, but i don't know anymore details than that. and i think they were working on a bug fix for the slot-4 dsp buzz. i hope they at least release a small update for version 3 just fixing some off the known bugs. people on the NM mailing list have been talking about tryin to get the source code to make our own interfaces... that would be nice.

what is '200% patch load' ?

if i understand it right, it's so you can actually dedicate 2 dsp cards to one patch. right now, you can only use one of the four dsp cards per patch. the 200% patch load would allow more complex sounds with less overall polyphony.

Maybe so.. maybe so.. That's why I'm staying level headed and not slagging clavia like many others here - > I trust them to provide excellence for me in the future (that, and I sold my nord mod a few months back to fund a relocation to portland, which is Ironic as I just spent $4.50 drinking a glass of Kava as if I were in barcelona).

If they do not unveil a nord mod version 2 I'll be annoyed, but the nord v1 was good even with the first software version..

speaking of which, I guess I should buy a micro modular again.. maybe.. maybe.. (I had the full nord rack, but the micro would suite me now).
