don't forget to demonstrate - current australian government seems to be, well... not too friendly in certain issues. ;)

hmm...dunno about sydney....

but when in melbourne listen to PBS FM 106.7 I think......friday nights has alternative techno stuff....they played a whole bunch of cristians music the other nite which is good to see.....

best idea is to check out the local street press when you're around town to find good gigs and stuff....if you're a festival goer january is just about when the festival season is really rolling too and there should be a lot of festivals (and side gigs) around....

so have fun anyway, the weather is absolutly perfect at the moment....just don't waste any water!

It is difficult to find a good radio station in Sydney in amongst all the endless reactionary talk back radio. 2ser is good though, a community radio station staffed by volunteers, thats 107.3 FM.
Don't get out a great deal these days unless it it for something special, having a child restricts your night-time activities a bit !January is festival month here and you will not be stuck for great things to do and see, plenty of concerts, art, theatre and music. You can pick up a guide when you get here. Don't forget your hat and your sunscreen, it is bastard hot hitting 40 degrees at times, mind you, comming from a country where there is frost on the ground this time of year it would be ungrateful to complain! Enjoy, it is a beautiful and interesting city.

if you pass thru brisbane def drop me a line, i work for 4zzzfm, oz's oldest community radio station, we play loads of different shit, organize gigs etc etc. so i can tell U wots happenin here. bris has a pretty dedicated bunch of nutters into their noise. in melb i guess check terriarki anarki saki for teknow and check out synaesthaesia records - mark who runs it puts on interesting gigs or definitely knows of cool stuff goin on. in syd definitely try and go to a system corrupt party(systemcorrupt.com) or a dual plover doo (dualplover.com), and if there is a bloody fist(bloodyfist.com.au) party on in newcastle try and go - tho expect hardcore.... for party listings also check out spraci.com and inthemix.com.au... its insanely hot at the moment and the festy season will be well swingin in january!...this week is quite exciting as i'm seeing dj shadow on thurs and si begg and jon spencer blues explosion both on sat night!! YAY.. also gonna have si on my radio show saturday arvo....
woohoo
have fun in oz:o)
