well prompted by lefthand i choose to make a thread dedicated to guidelines to this project.dont get offended...it will help everything come together in an organized fashion.thanks
1>.sign-up sheet
.place your name and residence on the thread called "sign-up sheet for no-future mix cd"make sure you state residence!"place where you live"
.keep comments to a minimum.for the purpose is so that i can take a tally of names and see who wants to play,and that's it.
.if your serious than sign up, if not not dont bother.
2>.ligistics/format
.ligistics/format=means, format to follow when making your mix for the cd.
.the basis is to keep to a user freindly format so that the next person has equal rights.meaning dont do some crazy shit.use your years of spining and tagteaming to play a realative flowly set.now not to say dont do what you want,please feel free to be free.just be considerate.
.tomas and most of us at the early stages decided a 5-7 minute slot is perfect.it gives the person enough time to mix one-two records or whatever.so please keep to this regiment!
.now you may spin records, mix your own tunes, scream into a mic whatever just make sure it fllows the format above, and your cool.
3.precedures
.now there is many ways of acomplishing this task however you dont have to follow a specific.
.if you plan to mix all records than try this "provided by ian" take a simple cd player and hook it up to one of your channels on your mixer and record into your cpu,using wavelab,cool edit pro,pro tools,whatever.
.make sure that everything is done through cd.we have cancelled the idea of tapes so make sure all final rendering is done to cd!
4.cd in the mail
.you will recieve a cd in the mail.first thing to do is copy that cd right away.so that if the postal service loses the cd we have the last copy so we can start it agian.
.make your mix,do as you may
.once you have made your mix to the exsiting cd, copy that so you have your mix on back-up as well.
.when your ready to send, contact the board,and say im done and ready to send, me or tomas will figure out were it is going next and will provided you with the right address.
5.stuff
.we all have thought this to be a good idea which would be good stories to tell on the website.
.along with your mix,please send something inexpensive,something cheap to the next person on the list.something from your country,city,state,whatever.so mething like a post card box of shit,or a pink button.what ever.
.take pictures of the process of making your mix.something to put on the website to show the progress of everybody.
6.closing
