too much..... :D
-but it´s definately a nice card....
Eclairfi; how are you gonna use the card? What do you need...?
Maybe there are some greater cards for your needs...?

Hammerfall DSP system (multiface+pcmcia card or pci card) costs
around 1000 euro. Check
RME (http://www.rme-audio.de) website for more detailed
informations about their products and prices.

i desperately need a new set-up, i'm going mad cos i can't make any music just now...so i'm saving up for gear bit by bit .....PC, soundcard, various other hardware like a nord (oh baby) etc ..

i was thinking about creamwear pulsar (older i know) and a few others but because i havent been producing for the past year ive really gotten behind with the latest soundcards/gear...... so basically i ain't got a clue at the mo :) need advice :-p

yeah i swallowed the edinburgh line about the pulsar and got one. i guess if you could get it cheap it might be worthwhile. but it's been nothing but bother for me, getting it to work smoothly is a nightmare. on the positive having endless pc probs teaches you a lot about pc's - but if you want to make music, then learning about the idiosyncracies of windows etc is simply time and energy spent not making music. if i was starting afresh - i would just get a reasonably inexpensive external soundcard with high quality jack ins + outs, not bother with DSPs, and spend all my money on getting a shit hot PC together.

A friend of my had those probs with the pulsar aswell... soo...
?
I bought an Emagic 2/6... very cheap over Ebay. It´s a cool piece of extern USB card.
2 in - 6 outs.. +digital in/out.

a friend of mine has a pulsar card and i could test it for a while but it couldn´t really convince me. the sound of the pulsar card is good but the software is shit. the surface is too slow and the softsynths are mostly crap compared to what is possible with native-instruments...
...and there were always problems with the software and windows/sequencer...
