Bollocks
I just took delivery of a tonne of gravel to top up the existing gravel in the garden and because of the bloody stupidly parked cars in our road, the bloke with the crane thing had to put it on the pavement. So I've been out there in the pouring rain for an hour, scooping gravel into a bucket using a trowel, then carrying it to various parts of the garden to distribute it. It was taking so long and using so little gravel. Then I started using a spade and a bigger bucket and still, hardly a dent in the fucking gravel, but a huge dent in my poor back.
I have given up and asked Travis Perkins to come and take it away, which they wont do til Monday, so now I will have to endure the resentment of all who pass by my house ALL WEEKEND.
Sorry just wanted to share that so that all those who are toasty warm inside can feel more smug than they do.

what is it about these DIY places..?
i bought some wood last weekend.. i only wanted a small offcut but they wouldnt cut it up for me..
the thing was so fucking big and i had to walk it a mile back to my house (dogding saturday morning pushchairs, battling breezes...my meagre frame buckling underneath )
then saw it into 3 pieces to even get it through the front door.
still.. gravel shovelling dont sound like much fun!

You need a wheel barrow - it'd still be hard job, but definitely some good weekend labour...

i havent got a wheel barrow, sadly. but i don't normally need one.
for gravelling in the past i have used the medium of many hands with buckets making light work. but this weekend i need to spend working on an essay for teacher training. (bastards, can't believe they have set an essay to do BEFORE the bloody course starts. that has to be some kind of a record). and everyone i know who might help is otherwise engaged. funny that...

Maybe at the end of your teacher training, you have to mark your own essay you wrote at the beginning...
