red sound dark star

I was just wondering if anyone here uses or has used the red sound dark star synth? dark star and or the dark star xp-2. how does it sound? ease of use and any pros/ cons would be apreciated. thanks.

Hey Ian,

I had the original Darkstar up to a few weeks ago. It's a cool little box. Makes for a good external knob box on the computer too.

only has stereo outs so the 5 separate sounds all get sent out the same two jacks. Sure, you can do some panning and make it a ghetto dual mono out situation.

I had picked it up on clearance for about $90.00 and thought it was a good deal. A friend of mine really wanted though so it's at his place now.

Haven't played with version 2.

I was going to ask this as they are pretty cheap and someone told me you could get some cool sounds.
