i found some of my best friends here and im always impressed of the way of behaving here!!!

i've been coming here for 1.5 years, since a friend in Freiburg told me about it.

I didn't post until recently, as I was very busy developing a chat forum with austrian/german/uk programmers, but since we expanded, i have less work (more mods), and more time.

i have always enjoyed reading the no-future release information, and links section and the members discussions here in the central forum.

In my opinion, since Erutufon Members here are well mannered, and allow everyone to voice their opinions, i find there is freedom here to be accepted for ourselves and our views and opinions which one might not always find in other unmoderated forums.

In 'My' forum, we always ban those who cause trouble (the exceptional few), whether that be extrem xenophobia, homophobia, racism, verbal abuse of other members, or intolerance for the views of others. We give them a chance to amend their post, and if they don't we ban them. We have had several who act this way, especially xenophobia and homophobia, and english attacking germans, usw because we are a forum for young people with young knowledge, but we found that banning them doesn't affect our membership numbers at all, and it makes the board a good place to come to share views and news.

Then it is probably time to find out what is causing them to attack.

However, ignoring normally dissolves such activities, given time.
Let them attack. Do not react with a counter-attack, for this will inevitably fuel another attack from them, adding further fuel to the anger that caused one to counter-attack in the first place.

Act human and you might connect with the human, rather than the attacker.

those days are not gone! i participate in a detroit forum where banning is a last resort. when someone makes trouble, his/her thread is locked and said user and the oposing user are sent to the SMACK ROOM, where a verbal KO is the only way out. banning people for talking shit just means you don't have the balls to stand up to that person and use your wits to make your point (imho).

sometimes there have been unpleasant situuations on this board but very rarely. its a fine balance between politeness and therefore a reserved and sterile board, and allowing people to be totally abusive which is just not acceptable, or interesting.
we want edgy discussions, but a bit of respect. i guess thats the goal

I just think that everyone here is on the same level. there is no reason to post anything 'ballsy'. we are all into a lot of the same things (movies, music, ideas) and we enjoy sharing them with each other. now I am always down for a good ol debate anytime, but even when they occur here they are highly intelligent and evolving. on other boards it is a lot "you're a dumb asshole" "oh yeah, fuck you" blah blah. and I like that that almost never comes up here.
this is a good place to be. and from my experiences over the last year of moving away from my friends and family and coming to the armpit of america all alone, this board and the people on it was one of the main reasons of keeping my sanity, and quelling my loneliness.

it is a very looooong story... but anyway i ended up marrying a japanese girl and settling here for a few years. it isn't bad sometimes. sometimes it is hell. fuck it. at least i have a humble studio, and a wife and cat at home. but it is expensive to live here and i work like a dog.

i will say though that tokyo is on fire at the moment, techno-wise i mean... i never go out though.

chinese promoters contacted me in L.A. to headline a New Years Eve party in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. it was to be the gig of my life! 60,000+ people and a a ten thousand dollar guarantee for an hour of djing and an hour of live p.a. on the runway of an airport.

i was excited!!!!

the DJ part went fine, here is a pic:

the live set was to be choriographed with the VJ and timed exactly to the countdown. my partner and i had a sick live set ready and we get to the location to soundcheck at 3pm and there was no one there

proceeded to fire up the sound ourselves, did a sound check and went to find the staff. no one around. no radios. no security. only airport guards with machine guns and a line forming around the airport entrance. traffic backed up for miles at four in the afternoon and doors were to open at five pm.


finally we locate some staff and they assure us that they will get us some radios so we can talk to the vj and get cues for the countdown...



11pm rolls around and we start our live set, even though we have no radios on stage and connot even see the screens where the vj will project the countdown. we play untill the crowd starts couting down and then the fireworks go off and the worst trance i ever heard in my life gets played by some DJ and the crowd goes nuts!!!!! At this point i just want to get to the count room and get my ten grand. i get to the door and here are these machine gun assholes guarding the door. i finally talk my way into the outer room which leads to the countroom, and it is deserted. the count room door is ajar and i run inside, only to see that there is nothing there but a table and some ashtrays, and NO PEOPLE.


then i heard the fucking helicopter. i ran outside and what do i see but said chinese promoter ascending in a cloud of dust. i dail his mobile phone to be sure and he pics up and shouts over the roar of the chopper -"you fucked up my countdown, and that is a breach of contract!"

I call the cops and they laugh at me and say that my contract has no validity under malaysian law and that i should be grateful i am not in jail for promoting "an illegal rave in a muslim country". (Since when am i the promoter?!)

the show turns into a riot when the cops shut it down early and my partner and I hide out in a staff room while the cops beat down ravers and let the dogs loose on drunken stragglers.

finally the shit calms down and i make my way back to the hotel. at this point i have about eight hundred bucks to my name and the hotel is saying that the room hasn't been taken care of... the fucking room cost about three hundred bucks!

I had planned on touring asia for six months or so on my earnings so i had given up my apartment in L.A. and arranged for my flight tickets to go L.A. - K.L. K.L. - BALI


what can i doo at this point? i was kind of lucky because bali is the place to be broke... i went to bali with about four fifty in dollars.



was stuck in indonesia for six months before i could earn/borrow enough cash to get to japan and see my girl.

got to Tokyo and struggled for a long time, starting completely over and clawing my way to where i am today...

i live near stuttgart-germany....i came to this place 2 month ago for start a new life...........
i was sick of my old life, my fucking friends and the whole life in my old town near cologne...........
everytime i went to the streets i saw dead people and my feeling was:

now i life with my cool mate tobias in a flat and my life is really better.

One of my good friends decided to get out of europe, at least for a while (was a good idea for him), and left to japan. I hear from him after a year and he is already getting married ( now they are married for almost a year) I called him once and heard his girl calling him and them talking in japanese .... real funny. What is it with japanese girls? I will stay away from japan since i fall for girls easily.
