cheapo cunt
I did by the My Wrongs thing from Warp. That cost me 8 quid, which I thought was a bit much. Then 2 months later it was on Channel 4.
stinkfinger
16th June 2005, 19:14
surely they have more than 6 mins worth of footage they could stick on a dvd for fuxake
The My Wrongs dvd had almost nothing. It had the film. The original radio sketch. And then a stupid commentary by a runner (who knew nothing, and sounded like he'd never seen it before) who worked on the film. For some reason, Chris Morris finds it hilarious to put shitty commentaries on his DVDs (remember the Brass Eye one on the Drugs episode?).

or the jam double dvd with over 300 mins of jam episodes, but half of that was just the same sketches but with a slightly differnt guassian blur effect. wot da fuk. that goes right over my uneducated head

won't that have been the 'late night' version that everyone always raves about and you think, "but it's just the same sketches with a slightly different gaussian blur effect..."?

I absolutely loved the radio show. Amazing tunes as well as the comedy, I heard little fluffy clouds on it for the first time. Couldnt get into jam at all though. I think without the mixed in actual tracks between sketches and the video effects it was nowhere near as good as your imagination could make it by listening to it.

I like how now, thanks to the publicity photos, so many people have now seen cunninghams widely spread bum hole. And ball sac. And japs eye. And piles.
Nice touch!

that's why radio is better than tv - you have to enter into the imaginary world like you do with a novel. with tv you just sit back and passively absorb it and so it's not as powerful. of course, you can't sit spraffing with your mates while you listen to a radio show, you got to concentrate on it, hence not so many people manage to get into it.
i still loved jam on tv. i find it hilarious. i'm weird tho.

it is a lot of the time, but what made jam so good was the amazing acting, the physicality of which you cant convey on radio. most tv is shit because the people making it dont seem to understand that it's a visual medium..

It's quite good fun trying to identify the various body parts too. I have hours of fun trying to look for his penis.

RJ is fantastic. Well worth a viewing (actually a quite a few of them).
Freaked out other people in the room though. Someone kept their eyes closed after the first 10secs.:-p
I was quite disappointed in it to be honest, £10 for a 6 minute music video? It's a fuckin' disgrace!

I really liked the book. But I did feel the video was a bit short, the idea of the documentary was fantastic and I feel he could have expanded on this. I just felt at the end i wanted to know more about Johnny
thembuzz
4th July 2005, 19:46
yeah, i have to admit to having felt a little cheated on the film. i was loving the first minute, and then all of a sudden i was presented with an old music video, and not one of cunningham's best, either
still, substandard chris cunningham is better than most people's best, innit?
