hi

how can i convert an atari ST cubase song on floppy disc into a format i can open on a PC running cubase?

the atari's died and i need to return to an old track

i'm hoping there's a clever program or 2 that'll do it for me...any suggesions?

thanks in advance

tom

as far as i was aware, pc and atari disks are formatted in exactly the same way so its just a case of putting the atari disk in the pc and it should read it. It worked for me!

really? i thought atari could read and write on 720kb formatted pc disks but not vice versa...
hm but should be a try worth so....

i was surprised as well and therefore just tried it. "disk not formatted. do you want it to be formatted now?" i got some old sequences to the pc by syncing the sequencers and recording the st's output. but that's obviously not possible with a dead st...

no, that's what i remember too (atari-formatted 720kb discs aren't readable by pcs)...
i've heard something about a LINUX application which might help (but no specifics... great) - and i've also thought that a friend with a mac might be useful (just because i know they're a bit more flexible compatibility-wise)...

any more leads?

the only ways are : find another atari...out a pc-formatted disk in and write your song to it!

try an atari-emulator 4 pc...or

checkout "makedisk"... http://www.atarizone.com/emulation.php
