...always know wot to do wit them. Now I know that this is a touchy subject and opinions may be hard to come by. Do the lot of you intensify your experience out at the clubs with 'stuff' or just down pint after pint? This applies to techno events only.
I'm thinking that it is done less with techno than the other genres. (Carl Cox not included) But I don't know why. And I think that drug use is more rampant than ever! Just curious but how much is a gram of blow in the UK? Apparrently, more than 90% of pound notes examined at the Bank of England has traces of the 'charlie'.

i don't know. i can see a techno show sober as hell and still have a good time. yet smoking some weed and having a good beer or two is always nice as well,

I tend to find that booze and weed at clubs is just fine, I mean of course if someone goes offering me soething stronger, well it would be rude to turn down their kind offer...

I have to admit to being a bit of a sucker for coke, partly because I analyse things a lot on the fly all the time, which can hamper me socially - a good whiff of some coke stops this process from happening.

Its probably a good job I don't earn stupid amounts of money, cos I've always said that if I hit the big time, I'll probably spend a few years definitely getting myself a proper charlie habit... and be a proper, proper cunt (those that know me will know that my current general rude and cuntish like attitude is just my idea of humour)...

Price of gram of Uncle Charles special nose powder in the UK... about £50, you'll always find someone who says that he can get it for £35 and that you are getting ripped off - but in my experience there's '35 quid coke' and there's 'nice coke', personally I don't like sticking baking powder and glucose up my nose. And never buy coke from speed dealers, cos speed is a filthy drug, gets cut to buggery and sold by paranoid twats who get themselves into debt eating their own profits and then think that shifting a bit of posh will get them out of hole 'cept they think that they can cut it like their filthy fucking paranoid amphetamine habit... yeeaaargh!

Vodka, mostly.

I will take E or coke if it's around, but not always - I have a take it or leave it attitude to most drugs now. I still like the hallucinogenic experience, but can't handle 12 hours of LSD madness - I will munch a few mushrooms, have a dab of K at a party, or smoke some Salvia Divinorum at home. I actually really really like speed. I like what it does to me, and I even enjoy the comedown. Again, I can take it or leave it so even when I used to take a lot of it I never came close to having what you might call a habit. Now, if it's around, I will dab a little bit here and there to keep me ahead of the vodka. In small quantities, it does less harm to your body and mind than caffeine - this comes from my pharmacologist grandpa who used to imbibe medical quality speed in his college days.

I can't really handle weed at all nowadays - I overdid the Sensi a few years back and now it gives me palpitations and severe paranoia. I can manage it if I'm on my own making music, or with 1 or 2 v. trusted friends, but generally I steer clear.

you could see a train on coke-tracks driving into a black tunnel...

never really understood why someone would take substance that has nor "real" efx. i mean compare coke to lsd...£50/£5. acid is cheap and you get so many nice special efx...budget!

coke made me run to the toilet and was sort of funny but no real kick! not for me...

im not looking for a mind bending experience these days, im looking to stay awake beyond 10.30 which is my usual bed time.

i like the odd puff on a weak spliff but thats it...

everything in moderation i say. ive got no chance of getting a drug habit beyond the cigarettes (which im still trying to kick completely) and the booze (which is not a problem anyway)

but i'm outta there with the otha stuff, i was kinda overreacting on everythin i took, like 1 e kept me goin for 3 days without sleep, 1 sniffofdacoke made me stand in the corner and wonder "wtf"...

as i had plenty of opportunities watching friends go bezerk (a couple of years back they's were doin like 15 e's on a friday night, puh).
i just quit with it all seeing them do the extra-tour ...and i must say, i don't miss anythin'

i can even stay awake longer than before, strange he?

if i go out i sometimes like to take an e or a half (but not very often anymore)....allways good to have jäger and/or vodka as well.
i also like to smoke a couple of joints (in a club) or tubes when i am at home.
i never touched acid and i will never do....even if i fink it must be a great trip.i am pleasured with some mushrooms twice a year or so.
btw was out to collect some psylos but there growed none :(

i know its not a club drug by any means but i must say that dmt is probably the most mind-bending earth-shattering and enlightening drug i've ever taken (a heavy dose of mushrooms being a close second). its not for the weak-hearted but will change the way you see. humbling and utterly amazing.

I've taken my share of drugs, never shot anything up, but i did some of the more extreme ones I would say.

Its just when it comes to the show/ concert on drugs thing, I'm not with it anymore. I really belive that drugs are fucking the whole scene up. I hate the fucking idiots who go to a show and are so fucked up they are in a corner with their eyes half closed looking like a freeking waste of life. GO TO HELL MF. These are the puddles of waste that have dirtied the scene to hell.

I go to a show for the music, and If i'm on drugs, you can bet I won't be in a corner melting into the dirty ass floor. HAVE SOME FUCKING SELF RESPECT MAN !!!!

I've gone to plenty of shows and had just a few drinks and still had a great time.

I'm not anti drug, I'm heavily anti moron.

hm i started a nice relationship with mrs. vodka since one year.
sometimes combined with mr. bull to stay awake. e very occasionally in small doses but i don´t need that mindblowing effect like emma said.
just wanna have some fun. it´s no fun anymore if i still feel the fx of chemicals 2 days after the party in my body and brain. party isn´t that important anymore.

currently, my favourite drugs in this order:

fine coffee ( i am a coffee addict)
quality spirits made into cocktails ( i only like to drink good quality booze)
tobacco (although i must stop this on 5th Decemeber - my dentist will extract my remaining wisdom teeth on this day, so it will be easy to stop)

and sex .....
does sex count as a drug? i think i am addicted *g

btw - i don't mind in the slightest to spend time with people socially who have taken drugs of any kind. it is not for me to tell them what they may or may not do with their mind/body/spirit

Ok, I thought that I would announce to all y'all that I now denounce
drug use. I completely abhor the usage of the shite. It is evil and takes everything away from you, especially yourself. That's unacceptable. Screw the glamour, the women, sex, money, fame, the baller lifestyle- it ain't worth it.
No point justifying goin' for a bender either, just cuz you got fired, lost your girl, got evicted, got towed, got bad grades, lost a contract, lost your agent, lost a gig and even if someone you loved died. If you're constantly surrounded by it, change your lifestyle. And if you are the bad influence on them, then cut it out! You'll eventually get pimped by the stuff.
Anyways, thought I'd share that with all y'all. Cuz I adore this site and the peepz who frequent it from around da world.

I'm not quite the typical student then - I've never done drugs.
I wouldnt really call myself a big drinker either - I honestly dont drink that much at all.

Non smoker too. About 96% percent of my mates smoke - I dragged on a ciggy once, and it was truly horrible. Most of my family smoke, and I still don't get it at all.

My chance of trying weed came to my attention this August, when I went to Jamaica for two weeks with my mum, her brother, his girlfriend and their kid (my cousin). My uncle had bought some weed, and brought it back to the apartment we were staying in... he made two joints - one for him, and one for my mum (jeez, it was weird to see my mum puffin')...perfect chance for me to try some, but I didnt - part of me is still asking my ass "why ever not?!?"

I'm not gonna go down a moral road and call the no-future threaders all kinda names under the sun - you do what you wanna do, when you wanna do it - it's your right people.

I never tried cigarettes, because it’s mischief in my opinion. It costs much money, makes dependant and doesn’t change the consciousnesslol

I used to drink much alcohol when I was younger (till I was 20 years old) but was sober while clubbing. I don’t know exactly why, perhaps the prices for alcohol were too high.
But in my momentary mood it makes fun drinking alcohol while clubbing. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

For other drugs I’m not open , I haven’t the demand to try it.
When I surprised a good friend using drugs (E) it was really a shock at this time for me. But we discussed that out and now I have a wider point of view.

Perhaps it comes from my mom’s point of view. For her all drugs are evil, there’s no difference.

mushrooms are definitely one of the best things i have had in my life. 6 months ago i hjad a really mind changing experience in maastricht, throwing out my money and my passport on the street wanting to go around naked and wanting to shit on the street.
sdince then i am positive that there are extraterrestrials but we'll not come in contact with them in the near future, that teleportation and time travelling are possible as well ( tried a bit myself:) and that there is no god.
now i am not that certain about this but i still think that drugs are not that bad and would love to try some peyote.
what is thi stuff dtm called in german and where can one get some? i have never tried lsd but i i am not sure if want to. i consider it to dangerous
i have only done alcohol(a lot)and weed apart from that and now think that alcohol is disgusting and that weed is overrated too .

About lsd: don't try it... too dangerous!!! I tried it myself once. The effect is great but scary at the same time, so I will never do it again.

And I know a guy who is still tripping and having flashbacks from one trip he tried years ago. It is sad to see.

If you wanna trip, eat some mushrooms. Allmost the same effect and much safer.

I don't think that taking drugs makes people fun-packed!

I like your attitude D G - I applaud your attitude & strength.

In my opinion it's not always appropriate to bow to peer pressure, which can sometimes be quite heavy, and begin to take drugs if u don't have the desire to try them.
When I was 19, and at college, a girl-friend of mine was trying to press LSD on me. She told me, that it would give me self-knowledge, and that I would discover who I was far quicker with the help of LSD, than if I didn't take it. I sat and watched her flunk out, drop out, and hang around with boys who, in my opinion, were going nowhere, sleeping all day, and taking drugs all night. They were trapped in a William Burrough's 'Interzone' (see the film 'Naked Lunch' for details).
That wasn't the life I wanted for myself!I thought at the time, that her recreational unguided drug taking was more to do with fitting in with a crowd, than a serious attempt at self-knowledge

I don't think that many street drugs have the purity and strength to be able to give one a true experience, and this is what has always held me back from experimenting. If u read Aldous Huxley's, Doors of Perception, or Thomas de Quincy's 'Confessions of an English Opium Eater', William Burrough's 'Naked Lunch' and poet Robert Graves's account of mushroom taking with shamanistic indians, U can come to understand the spectrum which exists between intelligent and idiotic drug taking. Quincey & Burroughs were addicts, however, Graves and Huxley for me, represent the 'intelligent' use of such drugs. There are also many accounts of shamanistic uses of strong natural drugs. These can induce psychosis and paranoia in the most balanced of urban people.
If you're curious about the effects of drugs, and you have friends who take them, u could read these books, and gain understanding without having to endanger yourself! I could never recommend that anyone try those drugs.

just like everything in life anything can be done in excess. I used to use a lot of hard drugs every weekend. I have had some great times and some bad times. all of which has helped make me who I am. life experiences. adventures. I have good happy stories, and sad depressing stories. all of which I don't think I would change if I could. because I like where I am and who I am. now drugs are rare for me. I will only drink alcohol, smoke weed and take mushrooms once in a blue moon. nose candy is pretty much a no no now. and I will never do e or acid again. my time has passed. now I am growing up and realising my adult responsibilities. all though I don't look down on anyone who uses or not. drugs can serve a good use. but you need to educate yourself on what you are putting into your body. what are the effects and the after effects. there is a way to expand your mind and be safe about it.

yes, you will. but respect it! you will venture into the unknown in a way you have NEVER experienced and it will be scary. I was reading T. McKenna last night and he said of DMT, basically, that if you don't shit your pants, especially the first time, there's something very unhealthy going on with your mind or you didn't do it right. It is NOT a party drug. It is for deep exploration. I tell this to everyone regardless of their level of experience. If you haven't already, try reading one of McKenna's books like Archaic Revival. It's absoluteley fascinating material.

i feel like i'm just posting redundant responses, but i think everyone just has their own consumption level. everyone knows what kind of level they fall in, be it none at all, face in the gutter, or mind expanding or whatever. everyone should have the right to chose what or what not to put into their own bodies and minds and it should just be left at that. it is unfortunate that peer pressure is such a major influence on these kind of decisions though. i just hope people have a moral sense that is good enough to steer them in a direction that they can handle. unfortunately many people don't.

erm, not posted since July... never realised I was such a lurker..

Many forms of intoxication are fun, yet they are not particularly useful in that they detach us from the our human awareness. If we become attached to this detachment then we become less in touch with human awareness .

I do enjoy a drink which can so easily get out of hand when compared to other forms of intoxication (especially when one starts sliding about on the dancefloor), but it's the only one I can be bothered with these days.

well,I think that nobody needs to be on to have fun-if you have great music and a lot of friends with you, you don't have to be on drugs. Surely, I made a lot of mostly interesting experiences. but somebody has to be there to make a party foul. but not me! I am just the one who is there laughing when they occur. I saw kid koala a couple of weeks ago, and while I was trying to grab a beer at the bar koala droped a real sick beat. so this guy near me started to spin and flail around, and as you can guess landed right on his face. fucking hilarious! I was laughing so hard and loud I drew more attention to him than there would have been. but I say thats what you get for not being able to hold yourself together.

yeah, heightened awareness is fair enough, but I'm a strong believer in the fact that we all have it in ourselves to bring that sort of experience to fruition within our minds/bodies through non-intoxicating means. It might take longer but the benefits are generally longer lasting, and more wholesome. Many "quick fixes" take ones brain to other states of awareness faster, but they eventually wear off and the price paid for the fix is a tired mind and body. Also the more one keeps caning the chemicals, the further away one comes from reaching similar states naturally, due to the overworked and tired brain, it then takes more effort to appreciate the natural state of awareness which is nevertheless still possible to reach.

but we're all human be ings who are naturally attracted to seeking sensation through one means or another, if a quick fix is on offer, then that's what most people are gonna go for, even if it is not the most beneficial on the long run.
