you might have heard of schwertner, he played at the vinylbar quite frequently last year, with lukas bacsoka, who you won't know, YET.
should be a night of rather "samplestylefunkazzswing" or somethin like it....
your playing with holger flinsch, so you might know his album on punktmusic (punkt09, right?). kewl. we (lukas & myself) did punkt10.

me as i live in frankfurt too can only say frankfurt is not such a bad town like som of you say. when invest the time to find people beyond the common-"schranzer"-people you find nice people which are as intelligent, freaky and open.minded like everywhere else.

and for record-stores, i would also say pro-vinyl is the best, and freebase is ok also.

yes, frankfurt doesn't have only the skyscrapers :)

we have a lot of special individuel clubs - especially the new cocoon club by sven väth ... (u60311, MTW, Robert Johnson, Royal, Präsidium, 190east)

also we have a lot of good recordshops...
freebase for frankfurt (the biggest one) and mainrecords for offenbach (small one, but very good sorted - lot of rarities and classics) ! ! !

Actually i cant say so much about the recordstores. Know delirium (dont like it, remember's me of ingo boss *argh*) and freebase...

but i like Frankfurt though, love the city and the pubs, bars and shops...but i'm so tired of frankfurt's clubscene... in great locations they play mainly music i dont like and its always the same... there's nothing special anymore which could delight me in any way.


some tips if somebody's interessted :)


"Pulse" ...its a gaybar :) delicous cuisine and pretty classy. The prices are ok for the fantastic meals. They've a lot of cocktails and at the weekend they open their club in the cellar.
"Kontiki - Thai Restaurant" has the best green curry ever!
"Royal" amazing club (it was a cinema), actually i dont like those big clubs but i love the location, unfortunately its more a houseclub and they havent had so much artists i were interessted in.
and i iike the 'traditional' things like "Alt-Sachsenhausen", "Mainufer(fest)" and the "Palmengarten"

naa, it's true frankfurt is sick. but why not?

the thing is that too many people pretend that they were from frankfurt but aren't. kidz living in small villages nobody knows feel cool to say that were from frankfurt. i guess it's because of the pretty dirty and criminal image of frankfurt. the most rubbish is made by people who don't live in frankfurt, otherwise more people would care about the city. i mean frankfurt as a really small town and people know each other. i asked a guy where he was from and he ment frankfurt city yeahh, and when i asked him where in frankfurt he came from, he ment MAINZ...funny...frankfurt - mainz, that's 30 kilometers, and not even the same bundesland.
