which one of the above OSs is recommended for audio (Abelton, Reaktor, Logic, VSTis)? I've been told that Pro is to be preferred when running these programs on a laptop - true?

i dont think that there are big differences between these two OS when you´ll make sound...

i use home edition and it works well :)

home edition should also do. pro has some more features especially for multiple users i think which doesn't matter in your case. and even if it does you can still unlock some of them cause m$ just blocked but not really removed them from home edition.

ive seen no real differnce other than network capabilities,and expanded resouces.there one in the same.i use pro.......what you need is osx:)
