I should asked this a long time ago, but does anyone know how to do this... and before you say RTFM, I don't have a manual, and havn't got round do downloading the PDF....

The program change option in the Track box is only 2 figure, and the patches I use in the modular in fact the whole thing is 3 figure....

Currently have to change everything manually, which is going to become a headache tonight....

don't know the mpc, so just an idea...

could you record the program changes you want by doing it manually on the nord, then edit out the messages you don't need? i'm assuming it transmits program changes, although i've never tried it.

or just move the patches around so all the ones you need are in slots below 99? this could be a pain in the arse though...

There might be a problem using prog changes on the modular with the MPC:

Are you using looping sequences? 'coz on the MPC, when you place a value in the PC box, it sends the PC each time the sequence loops back to the start. The Modular is a bit slow at responding to program changes so each time your sequence loops, all your notes get cut off and there's a 0.5 second (or so) glitch while the patch resets itself. You also loose all your knob tweaks 'coz the patch resets.

For my live stuff, I use a 2 bar loop so I can't use program changes for the modular because of this problem. I've resorted to changing patches manually.

If your stuff is sequenced as a full song (i.e. no looping) this won't be a problem.

One way to have PC higher than 99 might be to insert a PC in the sequence itself rather than using the PC box in the track main window. I'm not sure, but I think these go up to 127. Go into step seq and I think there's an option to insert an event, you can insert program changes here.

Hope this helps.

Good luck with the set tonight.

Like i say, I got the full size modular, and the program numbers start at 101, so more than pain in the arse, impossible in fact!

is there no standard for midi program changes? dosn't seem to be...

Oh well, have to stick to flicking the dial and hitting the load button when the sequence changes over..
