Do Me Bad Things?

Anyone heard this band yet? Kind of LA trash hair metal meets soul meets p-funk meets everything else uptown... there's 9 of the fuckers, about 4 singers, and they're from Croydon... I thought they'd be novelty-ish, like the Darkness or something, but I just got sent the album to review (it's out next week) and I've fallen in love with it.... can't WAIT to see them live.

I think I'm likely to get the album... apparently they are quite good live... didn't they take part in Xfm's Big Night Out last week?

Well I'd say if you like the singles you'll like the album. It's absolutely preposterous all the way through, kind of like a hard rock scissor sisters or something - massive arrangements, huge vocal harmonies, 70s rock piano out the yin-yang etc etc - but it's packed with tunes and energy. If I was pissed in a rock club it would make me go batshit crazy without a doubt.

Every time i listen I hear different things. Parts of it sound like I always wanted Muse to sound - just stupid over-ambitious prog mania, but somehow Muse always feel a bit sterile to me.

they look like they'd be wicked live, judging from the photos on their site. i could've gone to see them a few weeks ago and all, but i didn't bother for some reason. gah!
