Buying cheap PC components in the US

I'm going to New York in a few weeks, I want to pick up a new CPU and memory for my PC.. Can anyone suggest good stores to pick up stuff like this cheap in the US? Not web based, real stores... and I'm not talking state of the art components.

My gf went out to some huge famous mall in New Jersey and she said there was a gigantic electronics store which was very busy and cheap. I'll ask her at lunch...
