UK Cannabis laws

I was just reading the guardian's take on the recent wave of massive seizures of hash in the UK and was curious what the 'locals' felt about all of this. Has the relaxing of these laws swamped your country with excessive amounts of canna, or is this sensationalism on the part of Scotland Yard and the media?

Seems to me that the answer to the problem is setting up official distro locations (ala the dutch experiment, or the Oaksterdam medical scene in california).. sadly, that idea is not explored and the unstated assumption that cannabis *shouldn't* be consumed by the masses prevails. Sad really, as the lack of harm - to one degree or another - had to be a pretext for the reclassification (implied, but never stated, by the guardian).


Anyhow, I'm a big lover of canna-related goodness aand legalization. I hope you guys can straighten your situation out to act as a model for my country's ills.

As someone else said to me earlier, Scotland Yard are apparantly complaining as drug lords switch from selling crack and heroin to cannabis. Which seems a bit odd as I'd rather folk ran about stoned off their tits rather then smoking crack.

well you have to see it from this perpective:
if everyone was high
everyone would be too lazy to commit crimes
and would just go about pranking everyone and everything
since pranking isn't illegal
the cops would be out of a job
until someone makes pranking illegal
and then Scotland Yard'll be happy.

Hash is horrible and pretty much for 14yo to smoke cos they ain't got enough money to buy weed or they get too spzzed off smoking the proper stuff. They can seize s much hash as they want cos its often full of plastic and other shit too.

As for general seizures - not really an issue cos so many tonnes are imported or grown here that its not like you can't just click for fingers and buy a big bag of weed.
