damn.. i've heard this album now for a 10000000 times and it still gets me excited. i don't know, but is this album probably the best electronic music album ever? at least for me it's one of the main influcences made on my understanding of music at all. i don't wanna hype or anything. it's just so much perfection in this LP...

yes, verry good disk! surely one of the best listening-elektro albums ever. i like even the tresor.196, but its more to dance..

what are you talking about? isn't this about boards of canada? last time i checked they didn't do anything on tresor or even electro for that matter...

I think he was just comparing the greatness of geogaddi to tresor 196 which incidentally is shifted phases: the cosmic memoirs of the late great rupert j. rosinthrope (by drexciya). kungfoo had asked is goegaddi the greatest electronic album ever and that is where the comparison came from.
geogaddi is a great album, but personally I finding bola: gnayse to be a bit off BOC killer.

They are nowhere near as good as FSOL.
They've had a few nice moments, on High Scores and Music has the right, but most of their tracks all sound the same and Geogaddi I thought was a complete let down.

Geodaddi is an excellent electronic music album.

geogaddi was one of the albums that formed the soundtrack to the birth of our daughter. i therefore have quite a soft spot for it (and it's predecessors).
i don't however see the point in comparing it in terms of quality to drexciya/bola/whoever. it's not a competition. it exists and will continue to do so in it's own right, in the ears and mind of the beholder.

Dawn chorus, the devil is in the details and gyroscope are my faves. I'm sure Gyroscope uses a sample of a numbers station and I love the pitch drift in dawn chorus.

i also count "the beach of redpoint" to my favourites.. you can litteraly feel the fresh breeze from the ocean :)
anyway, i rarely listen to only one track of this album.. for me it's more like one whole sinfonia.

I don't really listen to BOC but they get some lovely melancholy sounds out of their synths.

I like some of their really short tracks, but I find it starts to get Elevator Muzak really quick.

I've got a few things by BOC (including Geogaddi), but I must say I tend to agree with Steev on this one..... Very nice music a lot of the time, but not as ground breaking as a lot of the hype would suggest.
I do love that EP on Skam though.

Yea geodaddi, is pretty good but aint listened to it as much as 'music has a right...' But my favourite BOC track is definately the hip hop track on the high scores ep.
Their Hell interface tracks on the MASK comps are crazy good, especially the 1 on MASK 200 which samples Trapped by Colonel Abrams.
