all extreme sports, skateboarding, bmxing etc. but only when they try and call them sports, with points and everything, instead of the reality that they are a 12 year old stoner activity gone to seed.

Baseball!
I'm sorry you Americans often compare American Football and Soccer (I'll use this term, simply for the purpose of clarity in this instance). How Soccer is boring, the scores are low, there's no convenient points for advert breaks, the plays can't be broken down into easy to understand chunks etc etc.
And you guys have fucking Baseball! On the surface it seems like it must be quite fast paced and high scoring, but when you actually sit down and watch a match live - holy shit it goes on and on and on. Nine innings a piece, and often only a couple of rounders (ahem I mean runs) if you're lucky - and then the series goes on for days...
I mean at least in Cricket the scores number in the hundreds, and there's some wickets to hit... sheesh!

yep, and i can still do a mean ollie. i only have a problem when people call it a sport, not just a faffing about activity done outside modern art galleries.

Aye. Me and Laz did a bit of skating last year. I hadn't skated for about 7 years, for Laz it was more like 15.. and the fucker pulled a kickflip after like 3 hours. I'm so fucking unfit, mini ramps still blow my mind though.. I just get dizzy far too quick. Theres still nothing in the world like a long simple 50-50 on a mini.

much like cricket, tho, it makes a lot more sense when you actually go to a game. people come and serve you, in your seat, multiple beers, totally delicious hot dogs, sugary drinks called frosty malts. it's a very relaxing and pleasant experience, but with occasional moments of excitement. also when i was at baseball games i felt i was really experiencing american culture, more than any other thing i did while i was there. same goes for cricket and englishness.
going to football is good but it's a bit full-on, loads of adrenalin etc. if that's what you want from watching sport fair enough. you may like banging techno - some people like to listen to classic fm.
also the low scoring crit of baseball - i think that's exactly why americans say they don't like football? ie silly.
