in the last week i saw rashoman and 8 1/2 and am gonna get a bunch of godard movies and more kurosawa stuff. sick of being disappointed by blockbuster's shit selection. i don't feel bad that they are losing all the market share. they put all the nice little stores with good porn sections out of business while they won't even carry Kids because they are a family oriented store even tho they carry red shoe diaries and the like.

YEAH! Fuck Blockbuster...although Netflix is just as bad I figure...they're in danger of putting the remaining good small video shops out of business. AND they don't carry porn! ;)

In the UK 'good small video shops' are unfortunately pretty rare these days, and those that are still around that have a great selection generally only have very old and knackered VHS copies.

I'm on screenselect (uk netflix type thing). It's a wonderful thing.

There are two really good independant video stores in Hackney and Stoke Newington that have a great selection of non-mainstream dvd's/videos. Forget the name though..Black decor. Anyone?

I just cancelled my screenselect subscription after watching two DVD's in the last four months. The selection is good though.
