I'll also admit to Mariah's 'all i want for xmas'
not really a bad one but 'wonderful christmas time' by paul mccartney

Oh that Macca tune annoys the jacobs off me. I seem to remember Kickin' records putting out 'Jungle Bells' at one point. I've got a lovely version of Jingle Bells by Smokey Robinson... and James Brown did some great Xmas albums... "Santa Claus go straight to the ghetto, hit up ya reindeer UH! tell em James Brown sent you UH!"... Low do some very pretty Xmas songs... but none of those are really guilty. The totally naff one that I can't help loving, that gets me straight in the Xmas mood is.... 'Winter's Tale' by David Essex!

I'm quite partial to the Kirsty McColl and Pogues geezer song.

I can't believe I actually like a song by Mike Batt and Tim Rice. Hey ho, it is Christmas.

The nights are colder now
Maybe I should close the door
And anyway the snow has covered all your footsteps
And I can follow you no more
The fire still burns at night
My memories are warm and clear
But everybody knows It's hard to be alone at this time of year
It was only a winter's tale
Just another winter's tale
And why should the world take notice
Of one more love that's failed
(It's)a love that can never be
Though we meant to love to
You and me
On a worldwide scale
We're just another winter's tale
Why I stand alone
A bell is ringing far away I wonder if you hear
I wonder if you listening
I wonder where you are today
Good luck, I wish you well
For all that wishes may be worth
I hope that love and strength
are with you for the length of your time on earth

Oh fuck yeah, it's a stone cold classic. "Yer a bum yer a punk!" "Yer and old slut on junk, lying there nearly dead on a drip in that bed" "You scumbag you maggot, you cheap lousy faggot, happy christmas yer arse I pray god it's yer last!"

Oh and 2000 Miles by the Pretenders. Chrissie Hynde could sing the proceedings of the European parliament fisheries commission and it would move me.
