Mr Machine is good, but very formulaic. All the tracks sound pretty much the same.

His best stuff is scattered on various EPs, but I only have Mr Machine.

I listened to the album through once at a friend's house. It didn't grab me but my friend, whom I trust, insists that it is damn fine.

Was it just me or did it sound very lo-fi or flat or something? Like it was produced with Reason or something.

I must give it another listen at any rate.

i have played on the same bill as him a few times and have followed his career since scsi started.

he is formulaic, but its his and only his formula so he cant really be slated too much.

'The Silent Years' on Satamile is excellent - real brooding, heady electro. I didn't like it when I first got it, but have since played it out so much I've worn the grooves right down. Saw a copy of it in Sounds of the Universe in Soho a while back, but dunno if it's still there.
