Jhonn Balance has departed this mortal coil.

Saw him perform with Coil just a couple of months ago. It was a mind blowing experience. Very sad. Will listen to his voice tonight.

He would have performed at the Seed party on Friday night, had it not been cancelled.

I was listening to Coil all morning, weirdly... very sad. He knew his alcoholism was going to kill him, though, in face it almost seemed like he was wishing it on himself in some of his statements.

i've recently been reading "englands hidden reverse" which has a biog section on john/coil. and forcing my wife to listen to "loves secret domain" on friday.

another true one-off over the threshold.

Yeah it's been cropping up on my iPod a lot recently. That and Coils cover version of Tainted Love, which bizarrely my iPod played twice in one day on random.. which was the day after Mark Almond was badly injured in an accident.. I was convinced I'd come home and find he had died.

My gf and I listened to "Musick To Play In The Dark" while on a bus across London last night. Very sad.

The words in "Brocolli"...."wise words from the dear departed".

I'd like to play some Coil at my gig on Friday, something with Jhonn's voice in it. Perhaps "Brocolli" or "The Dreamer Is Still Asleep". The techno kids might balk at a ten minute Coil track breaking up the night, but perhaps they'll listen when he sings "may I ask you all for silence".
