UK Black Watch troops are sent to bolster American troops in an area where Coalition forces are hated, and are in far more danger than in Basra. Tony Blair says that everything will be ok.

Now, 3 Black Watch members are killed, 8 injured, less than a month after deployment.

God I hate the government.

2nd bridge combat team (US) was deployed 2 months ago
they already have 22 dead
3 from a sniper that operating at a range of 800 yards!!!

i think this next offensive is going to last until its over
whats-his-nuts, the prime minster of iraq (don't remember his name) is pushing for it, bush is certainly pushing for it, and the insurgents are also pushing for the endgame.

Rory Bremer said it in a sketch last week with "... and we'll send the Black Watch in as we're going to disband them anyway so who cares"

If you can find a method of war in which one side hates the other and is armed to the teeth and the other side has really big guns which doesn't result in casualties please report it to the prime minister. Other than that I really do just tune out to all these casualty reports, you don't join the army as an infantry man if you aren't willing to put yourself in that situation.

a couple of my friends are out there at the moment doing non-military work. they say its not half as fun as it used to be. evenings involve watching Shrek on vhs in military compunds with everyone to scared shitless to go buy more beer and rizlas. tell him not to bother

He stayed in a palace on his last tour and loved every minute of it, which I guess is why he's so keen to get back out there.
He doesn't have many good things to say about the American military out there - he thinks things would be a lot calmer if they fucked off and left the Brits and the Poles to it.
