I am in the lucky position to have some likeminded henchmen in Tokyo for the next three months, and would be interested to hear about some more obscure must-have Japanese muzak, preferably newer stuff that can still be bought from local rekkid shops in vinyl form.

stuff I am aware of: .com, housedust, torema...

hmm well thnx for phont & subvoice, but those labels I know and they are readily available almost everywhere (though I didn't know phont was japanese...), I'm interested in more "obscure" stuff that may not have made it to europe otherwise...

i've got a few releases by this guy called Aube, he uses to choose a certain theme and do recordings of that, e.g. blood, glass, metal,...
there must be loads of stuff out by this guy, most i heard was to noisy to really listen to but there are some very good ones. always cool artwork too.

also check out ukaisaji (god i think i just really butchered that spelling). he's doing the next dot com (number 6 i think) and wrote the beats for the japanese hip hop track that was on noodles 4...have heard quite a bit of his stuff and it is really good....think he might do a live set as well, not sure.

Hmm... Rebus Tape on the label Reel Musiq is really good... very subheadisch style.

Just got Rebus Tape - House Structure EP (Reel Musiq 44)
very good one!

I got it from http://www.decksrecords.de/
